Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.\nJob Summary & Responsibilities\nAnalog and digital circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, interconnect and cabling design\n\nContribute to system level architectural design of semiconductor capital equipment\n\nFirmware development (PLD, FPGA and micro-controller programming)\n\nMotion control of servo motors, stepper motors, industrial robotic systems and automation\n\nAssist in the development of system level performance characterization and validation test plans.\n\nDocument design requirements, prepare functional descriptions and define performance specifications\n\nGuide PCB layout design work\n\nAssist in troubleshooting of failing electronic components and designs.\n\nCreate Failure Mode and Effect Analyses for new and existing electronic designs.\n\nDevelop and document production test process requirements with pass-fail criteria\n\nParticipate in system level characterization, validation and compliance test work\n\nFollow Onto Innovation's product lifecycle process\n\nProvide technical support to sales and service teams as needed to promote customer adoption and use of Onto Innovation's products\n\nProvide excellent written and verbal communication of concepts, plans, status, proposals, designs, etc. to hardware and software team members\n\nMust be able to travel internationally to customer sites at least 20% of the time, with additional travel as business needs require.\n\nQualifications\nBS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a product development environment.\n\nEstablished experience working with the development of integrated systems including application of several of the following technology areas: motion control, staging, optics, imaging systems and illumination control, PC-based control systems, custom firmware/software and power management.\n\nMotion Control experience required.\n\nKnowledge of Embedded Micro-processors.\n\nExperienced in the use of PCB Layout Tools, knowledge of Altium is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with semiconductor wafer processing, defect inspection equipment, automated test equipment and/or probe cards is a plus\n\nFamiliarity with relevant compliance standards is a plus (SEMI, CE, UL, CDRH)\n\nAbility to study and understand the functional relevance of existing product designs quickly and contribute meaningfully to support product development and support needs.\n\nKnowledgeable of product development concepts, practices and procedures\n\nAbility to work in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment.\n\nProfessional attitude and the ability to communicate and work across many levels of the organization including Management, Technical Support, Applications and Customers.\n\nKnowledge of FW and familiarity with FPGA’s, ASICs and Verilog Description language\n\nWhy Join Onto Innovation?\nAt Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter-and so should your well-being.
