As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will collaborate on-site with suppliers driving performance through capacity analysis, continuous improvement, and developing relationships in support of a growing semiconductor capital equipment business. This position is a role with strategic and tactical Supply Chain responsibilities. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you are expected to support all activities that ensure a continuous flow of parts supply to our facilities. Each supplier development opportunity may be unique. The candidate will need to demonstrate technical capability in order to communicate effectively with external suppliers, internal supply chain, purchasing, engineering, and supplier quality management on quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities. The qualified individual will have responsibility for supporting the supply chain across MBU, IBU, and LBU. The engineer is expected to be a self-starter and accountable for meeting aggressive completion targets.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nDevelop and execute a supplier engagement plan, with an on-site supplier focus\nPerform on-site capacity analysis, identify process bottlenecks, validate against current and future demand\nDrive continuous improvement with supplier to meet delivery and quality requirements\nData based decision making and solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions\nSupport and foster supplier partnerships\nCommunicate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external\nLeads and evolves supplier assessment to drive operational excellence with other functional experts, review supplier production technology and improvementroadmaps\nIdentify and initiate cost reduction opportunities, support contract negotiation projects\nEnsure assigned supply base meets material delivery objectives\nSet and reinforce expectation of suppliers to adjust and perform to delivery schedule\nPrioritize and escalate Critical Shortage resolution actions\nManage supplier transitions to ensure uninterrupted material availability\nProvides status reports to management, stakeholders, and internal customers\nIdentifies and resolves potential complications within the project and develops solutions for resolution\nQualifications\nBachelor's Degree (Systems/Mechanical/Production Engineering, Technical or Supply Chain coursework preferred)\nExperience in Semiconductor Equipment building with Primary (Machining, Sheetmetal, Welding, Cable Harness etc.) and Secondary (Coating, Painting, Anodizing, Leak testing etc.) fabrication process knowledge.\nExperience in process quality standards ISO, FMEA, 8D, 5-Why etc.\nExperience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain with emphasis in supplier capacity and quality, process walks, capacity analysis, Inventory management and demonstrated strong technical aptitude preferred\nIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc.)\nExperience with product builds for MBU and ability to quickly learn IBU and LBU products as needed\nHands-on/tactical, self-starter\nAbility to travel domestic and internationally up to 50%+ (about half involve overnight stays).\nSalary: $80,000-115,000\nOnto Innovation Inc. offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, including health/dental/vision/life/disability,PTO, 401K plan with employer match, and an Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) along with health & wellness initiatives.
