Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.\nJob Summary & Responsibilities\nJob Description\nServe as the lead Electrical Engineer within the Eindhoven development team, providing local ownership and technical guidance for electrical system development and integration.\nCollaborate with the US Electrical Engineering team to architect, develop, implement, and maintain the electrical control systems for lithography and precision mechatronic systems.\nReview and support analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic designs developed by internal teams and external suppliers.\nDefine and manage electrical interfaces between electronics, sensors, actuators, embedded software, motion control, and mechanical subsystems.\nLead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of electrical and system integration issues throughout development, manufacturing support, and product lifecycle activities.\nPartner closely with Systems, Mechanical and Software teams to ensure robust and production-ready solutions.\nSupport supplier technical reviews, design verification activities, and engineering change implementation.\nDrive electrical engineering best practices, design quality, and technical documentation within the Eindhoven organization and in close collaboration with US colleagues.\nQualifications\nBS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.\n8+ years of broad electrical engineering experience, ideally in capital equipment or high-precision systems.\nStrong expertise in analog, digital, and power electronics, including grounding, noise mitigation, and signal integrity.\nExperience integrating motors, sensors, power systems, and mixed-signal components into complex platforms.\nSkilled with PCB design and simulation tools (Altium, OrCAD, SPICE, MATLAB, etc.).\nWorking knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, or FPGAs.\nHands-on experience with motion control and sensor integration preferred.\nProven technical leadership, team mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.\nExcellent communication and documentation abilities.\nAbility to travel for manufacturing support, system bring-up, or customer interactions.\nOnto Innovation Inc. offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, including health/dental/vision/life/disability, PTO, 401K plan with employer match, and an Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) along with health & wellness initiatives.
