Applicants must also be first or second year Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling students.To be considered for an internship placement with Access, please submit a cover letter with your application that includes the school you are attending, your degree program, details on your internship requirements, and the Access program(s) of interest to you.\nPotential programs for an internship placement include Clinic, PROS, Urgent Care, IDD Clinical, OnTrackNY, ACT, or Family Services.\n\nPRIMARY FUNCTIONS:\nFacilitate/assist in Psycho-educational, rehabilitation, and recovery groups.\nFacilitate/assist in counseling groups and individual counseling sessions.\nConduct intakes and complete Psychosocial and other assessments.\nResponsible for caseload appropriate for the student’s experience level and education level.\nResponsible for all required documentation associated with caseload (i.e., monthly summary notes, individual session notes, Individual Recovery Plans with program participants, required assessments, etc.).\nParticipate in treatment planning, as well as transferring and closing client files.\nADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:\nOpportunity to participate in clinical modalities, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Crisis Intervention, and Motivational Interviewing.\nOpportunity to participate in/conduct individual and group therapy sessions.\nGain experience in managing behavioral health documentation.\nAdditional assignments may be determined at a future date.\nQUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:\nPrevious experience in a clinical setting is preferred.\nStrong organization skills with accurate attention to detail.\nSufficient skills to communicate effectively with both clients and staff.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nFirst or Second year Social work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling student.\nPrevious behavioral health or clinical experience is preferred.\nPHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:\n\nThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to perform the job's essential functions successfully.
