Applicants must be in a Human Services or related degree program.\nTo be considered for an internship placement with Access, please submit a cover letter with your application that includes the school you are attending, your degree program, details on your internship requirements, and the Access program(s) of interest to you.\nPotential programs for an internship placement include Community Alternatives, REAL Changes, Preventive, REACH, Care Management, IDD Residential, MH Residential, Pre Voc, and Career Services.\nPRIMARY FUNCTIONS:\nCoach/teach/demonstrate new skills to clients.\nShadow and assist team.\nAssist in writing case notes.\nSupport the individual to participate in meaningful activities.\nAid the individual in pursuing personal interests and aspirations.\nModel appropriate boundaries and behaviors.\nObserve and report on activity engagement trends.\n\nADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:\nParticipate in the discussion of clients’ individual valued outcomes, core competencies, and progress.\nAssist with group facilitation.\nAssist with client intakes.\nBuild on the individual's abilities and maximize their potential.\nAdditional assignments may be determined at a future date.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:\nAbility to maintain healthy boundaries with clients.\nMaintain an encouraging and accepting environment.\nStrong organization skills with accurate attention to detail.\nExcellent communication skills.\nPrevious Human Services experience is a plus.\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nUndergraduate students in Human Services or related degree programs.\n\nPHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:\n\nThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to perform the job's essential functions successfully.
