Our Community Residence program provides a warm and caring home to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, many of whom also have behavioral or medical complexities. Our Day Habilitation program provides adults with access to clinical and nursing supports while they are engaged in a learning environment that takes place at site based and community settings utilizing the arts, computers, and volunteering aimed at the development of greater independent living skills. The nurses that work within these program offer care to individuals with varying levels of need at multiple locations throughout the week.\nThis position requires that applicants be enrolled in a degree program that will grant them credit hours for their internship. Applicants must also be an associate level nursing student.\nTo be considered for an internship placement with Access, please submit a cover letter with your application that includes the school you are attending, your degree program, details on your internship requirements, and the program(s) of interest to you.\nPRIMARY FUNCTIONS:\nObserve and assist with medication counts.\nObserve and assist with medication pours.\nEnsure client appointments are scheduled.\nAssist in charting of client medical information.\nProvide medication and wellness patient education.\n\nADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:\nParticipate in daily IDD Nursing huddles.\nPatriciate in weekly supervision.\nAdditional assignments may be determined at a future date.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:\nDemonstrates cultural sensitivity and competency at all times. \nExcellent communication skills.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nCurrent associate level nursing student.\nPrior experience in nursing is a plus.\nPHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:\n\nThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to perform the job's essential functions successfully.
