This role is a critical blend of strategic vision, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration aimed at scaling our growth platform and services to maximize User Acquisition, Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and user lifetime value while maintaining engineering standards and excellence.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO Essential Job Duties & Functions\nStrategic Engineering Leadership\nDefine and articulate a multi-year Growth Engineering Strategy aligned with corporate goals such as new market entry and feature expansion.\nFacilitate long-term engineering strategies in partnership with the Product organization.\nCollaborate with Marketing to develop and optimize the marketing technology stack strategy.\nChampion an innovation-led culture focused on A/B testing infrastructure and rapid experimentation to optimize the conversion funnel.\nTechnical Oversight & Architecture\nOversee the design and evolution of highly available, secure growth foundational systems\nPush for more scalable and maintainable future systems within the Growth teams and establish technical standards.\nDrive the development of personalization engineering, including User Personalization systems.\nBridge the gap between Growth data and Data Engineering/BI to improve data warehousing and business metric reporting.\nOwn the SDLC and enable and execute on solid foundations for operational excellence.\nTeam Management & Development\nLead and evolve a team of Engineering Managers and Software Engineers across multiple platforms: backend, mobile, and Web.\nMentor and coach technical leaders while driving hiring, performance reviews, and career progression plans.\nEducate the team on growth strategies and building future-proof technical solutions.\nRefine the Growth-domain career ladder to ensure alignment with broader engineering leveling.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner closely with User Acquisition (UA) and Marketing Automation (MA) teams to align engineering deliverables with campaign goals.\nCoordinate with Data Engineering and Business Intelligence to ensure accurate measurements of growth funnel events to downstream reporting and analysis.\nPartner with vertical Product and Engineering leads to ensure horizontal Growth initiatives integrate seamlessly with the overall product roadmap.\nWHAT YOU’LL BRING\nProven experience at least 4+ years in technical leadership across growth teams, specifically within mobile and web environments.\nStrong background in technical solutions involving marketing, product, and engineering teams.\nTrack record instituting sound SDLC practices (testing, code review, incident response, observability) in high-velocity environment, can balance speed with system quality\nExpertise in managing complex subscription lifecycles and payment integration systems.\nAbility to act as a multiplier for teams, proactively identifying and owning areas of improvement.\nDeep understanding of experimentation methodologies, including A/B testing and instrumentation.\nA strong curiosity for exploring new technologies, including AI\nA shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values.\nPermanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX. \nAbility to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp.\nADDED BONUSES\nThough not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:\nExperience working and integrating with user attribution and marketing automation technologies\nExperience with analytics technology that tracks and reports website and app traffic, user behavior, and visitor data\nExperience with reporting tools like Tableau, Looker, etc.\nTHE ONX EXPERIENCE\nonX is a distributed company with more than 400 employees across the country. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $200,000 and $249,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based upon experience, skills, certifications, education, among other factors as required in the job description.
