Your main focus will be events: OPay’s external and business-led events, and our presence at industry events across different sectors.You’ll also support wider marketing work across the team. We want an all-round marketer who specialises in events, not an event planner only.\nEvery event you deliver should meet two goals: a brand goal and a business goal.\nYou’ll report to the IMC Lead, who sets the overall direction. You’ll own the events function and support other marketing projects within that direction.\nWhat you’ll do\nEvents and business goals\nLink every event to a clear brand goal and a clear business goal.\nPlan events against the yearly events budget, and show what each event returns for its cost.\nTurn event requests into clear briefs: goals, audience, budget, timeline and KPIs.\nExternal and business-led events\nPlan and deliver OPay’s own external events, from concept to post-event report.\nRun events end to end: run of show, guest lists, branding, logistics and on-site management.\nWork with sales, partnerships, brand, creative and PR teams so events support wider business and campaign plans.\nIndustry events and visibility\nFind and assess industry events across sectors, such as fintech, banking, retail, tech and SMEs, where OPay should show up.\nRecommend which events to attend, speak at or sponsor, and why.\nManage OPay’s presence at these events: booths, branding, speaking slots and on-site activity.\nBuild relationships with event organisers and industry bodies.\nWider marketing support\nSupport the planning and rollout of integrated campaigns across channels.\nPlan and run on-ground activations and BTL work linked to campaigns.\nSupport brand partnerships and sponsorships.\nWrite briefs for creative, content and production work, and review what comes back.\nCoordinate agencies and partner teams on assigned projects.\nTake on other marketing projects as assigned by the IMC Lead.\nBudget and vendors\nPrepare budgets and cost breakdowns for events and assigned projects.\nSource and manage vendors and agencies in line with company procurement policy.\nKeep clear records of all spend.\nReporting\nReport on every event and project: results against goals, spend against budget, and brand visibility.\nShare what worked and what to change next time.\n\nRequirements\nMust have\n4-6 years in marketing, with at least 3 years focused on events, agency or in-house.\nHas delivered corporate or brand events for 300+ guests.\nExperience managing a brand’s presence at industry events, conferences or expos.\nBroad marketing experience: campaigns, activations, partnerships or brand projects.\nCan tie events and campaigns to business results, not just attendance or reach.\nExperience managing budgets and several vendors at once.\nComfortable working within formal approval and procurement processes.\nClear, timely written updates and reports.\nWilling to travel and work some evenings and weekends.\nNice to have\nExperience in fintech, banking, FMCG or telecoms.\nA network of event organisers and industry contacts in Nigeria.\nExperience with sponsorship deals or speaking-slot placements.\n•A degree in Marketing, Communications,
