In this role, you’ll work across hardware and software boundaries to develop reliable, secure, and high-performance systems that support our cloud-managed video platform.\nThis is a great opportunity for engineers who love solving complex problems close to the hardware, enjoy collaboration, and want to make a visible impact.\nIf your background includes deeper experience than what’s outlined here, we still encourage you to apply.\nRole and Responsibilities\nDevelops and maintains board support packages, platform frameworks, and embedded Linux applications using shell scripting and C/C++.\nWork with software engineers to design and implement features that interact with the cloud.\nPartners with product, hardware, mechanical, and QA teams to design and manufacture embedded Linux devices that meet OpenEye’s needs and standards.\nEffectively communicates across teams to drive the delivery of high-quality embedded systems.\nReviews development requests and makes educated decisions about the most efficient way to proceed.\nDrives collaboration with various departments and stakeholders, clearly and effectively communicating technical insights and complex data concepts and strategies.\nAnalyzes and interprets diverse input requirements, devising optimal strategies to fulfill each requirement.\nReviews software code to ensure compliance with company, departmental, and team standards.\nMaintains automated build system for multiple hardware deployments\nQualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.\n3+ years of experience with embedded software development with Linux platforms.\nExperience with board support packages, Linux kernel and drivers, and hardware bring-up.\nStrong experience with cross-compilation and development frameworks in platforms and environments such as Yocto, Gentoo, buildroot.\nExperience with C/C++ coding following scalable and efficient software architecture and design principles.\nExperience with cryptography and specialized embedded processors a plus.\nExceptional data analytical skills, adept at transforming data-driven insights into actionable outcomes\nExperience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD systems a plus\nAbility to quickly learn new technologies and practices\nExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills\nStrong quality ethic and test-first attitude\nGreat communication and teamwork skills\nPlease note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.\nThe Perks!\nEmployees are eligible to purchase company stock at a discounted rate\nCollaborative, fun, creative culture where idea sharing is encouraged\nCasual dress (Jeans are welcome!)\nMedical, dental, vision & prescription benefits starting day 1!
