Available Internship Positions:\n1) Photonics Device Modeling Intern\nLocation: Hybrid - Santa Clara, CA or Goleta, CA\nWhat You Will Do\nAssist with implementation and quality assurance of photonic device modeling tools and workflows\n\nDevelop and optimize design models for photonic devices and integrated circuits\n\nRun simulations and analyze data to support device performance and design validation\n\nCollaborate with photonics and process engineering teams\n\nYour Background Includes\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field\n\nExperience with photonics simulation tools\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\n2) PIC (Photonic Integrated Circuit) Engineering Intern\nLocation: On-Site - Santa Clara, CA or Goleta, CA\nWhat You Will Do\nSupport the design, layout, and verification of photonic integrated circuits\n\nAssist with simulation, characterization, and optimization of PIC components\n\nWork closely with cross-functional design and fabrication teams\n\nDocument design results and participate in design reviews\n\nYour Background Includes\nEnrolled in a degree program in Electrical Engineering, Applied Material Science, Applied Physics, or a related field\n\nInterest in silicon photonics or integrated circuit design\n\nStrong problem-solving, communication, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills.\n\n3) Photonics Test Engineering Intern\nLocation: Onsite - Santa Clara, CA or Goleta, CA\nWhat You Will Do\nBuild and modify system level photonic test stations including PIC evaluation boards, optical spectrum\n\nanalyzers, oscilloscopes, and other high-end test equipment\n\nWrite Python code to execute and automate test programs\n\nCollect and analyze data, create test reports, and provide clear conclusions\n\nYour Background Includes\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or related field\n\nBasic software coding experience, ideally in python\n\nBasic experience operating lab equipment\n\nSelf-starting and independent but able to collaborate with team member\n\n***\nGeneral Internship Requirements\nCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering or science program\n\nAbility to work in a collaborative, fast-moving R&D environment\n\nStrong communication and documentation skills\n\nAvailability to work onsite as required by the role\n\nAbout OpenLight\nOpenLight is growing as customer adoption and industry momentum continue to accelerate.
