Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture.\nAbout the Job\nThe EU engineering team in London is looking to hire an Android Engineer to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. In this role, you will work to strengthen the infrastructure behind our app, used by millions of diners worldwide. You will play a crucial role in improving the foundations of a large Kotlin codebase while shaping the technical roadmap for new data integrations and architecture. By collaborating across teams, you will help build and maintain the Android capabilities that support our marketing technology initiatives, including attribution and deep linking. Ultimately, your work will empower restaurants to thrive by creating reliable, high-performance experiences that encourage diners to return time and again.\nNote: This is a 12 month fixed term contract. \nResponsibilities\nShape the technical roadmap of new data integrations, application architecture, and scalability efforts.\nEnhance the core Android app’s architecture to ensure the codebase remains maintainable, scalable, and modern.\nBuild, maintain, and optimize marketing technology integrations, including attribution SDKs, measurement tools, and deep linking capabilities.\nElevate the app’s overall reliability, performance, and testability while simplifying complex areas of the codebase.\nLeverage data and diagnostics to identify potential issues, validate technical improvements, and optimize both end-user and developer experiences.\nShare technical knowledge and help shape best engineering practices across multiple squads.\nMinimum Qualifications\n3+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable, modern, and high-performing Android applications.\nProven track record of improving the architecture of an established Android app.\nStrong proficiency in writing maintainable Kotlin code with a deep value for testing, reliability, and performance.\nHands-on experience working with mobile analytics or attribution integrations, such as Firebase or attribution SDKs.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with engineering, marketing, and data stakeholders, explaining technical decisions clearly.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working across Android applications and the backend services that support them, including server-side Java.\nPassion for enhancing developer experience, infrastructure, and internal tooling.\nFamiliarity with creating and contributing to shared Android infrastructure.\nDemonstrated appetite for continually refining the end-user experience through data-driven insights.\nWork Environment & Flexibility\nAt OpenTable, we pride ourselves on fostering a global and dynamic work environment.
