Join us.\nYOUR IMPACT:\nAs a Software Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of enterprise software products at OpenText, a leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM). OpenText's EIM technologies and business solutions help organizations bring structure to unstructured information, gain better business insight, improve process velocity, reduce information governance risks, and protect sensitive information and intellectual property. They are delivered onsite, via mobile devices, in private cloud, or in the cloud.\nYou will work with senior engineers, quality engineering, product stakeholders and other team members to deliver reliable product features and fixes. You will take part in the complete software development lifecycle within an Agile development framework and continue to build strong product and technical expertise.\nWHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:\nProduce high-quality, maintainable code in accordance with design specifications and coding standards.\nWrite and execute unit tests, support integration testing, and contribute to overall product quality.\nParticipate in code and design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve implementation quality.\nAnalyze, troubleshoot and resolve product defects, with guidance from senior team members when required.\nContribute to maintenance activities, customer issue analysis and product improvements.\nParticipate in the software development process from design through release in an Agile development framework.\nCollaborate with Product Owners, quality engineers and development team members to understand requirements and deliver committed work.\nProvide clear status updates, identify risks or dependencies, and escalate issues in a timely manner.\nContinuously improve your technical skills and product knowledge.\nShare relevant learnings with the team.\nWHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n3+ years of software development experience, preferably in enterprise product development.\nGood hands-on programming experience in C and C++ on Unix/Linux platforms.\nWorking knowledge of Windows development technologies such as Win32, MFC and COM/DCOM.\nGood programming, debugging, problem-solving and analytical skills.\nUnderstanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and software design principles.\nExperience developing or maintaining web-based platforms or enterprise applications.\nWorking knowledge of Web Services, SOAP, WSDL, XML, XML Schema and XPath.\nUnderstanding of application architecture, high-level and low-level design concepts, middleware/application servers and databases.\nAbility to read technical and architectural documentation and identify implementation considerations or potential issues.\nFamiliarity with source control, build processes, code reviews and continuous integration practices.\nExperience working in Agile development teams and contributing to continual process improvement.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with colleagues across functions and geographies.\nGood written and verbal communication, organization and time-management skills.\nONE LAST THING:\nAt OpenText we understand and value diversity in our employees and we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
