Join us.\nYour Impact:\nAs a Principal Software Developer, you will define and own the target-state architecture for decomposing a monolithic .NET application into containerized modern .NET (.NET 8+) microservices deployed on a Kubernetes (Linux) platform on Google Cloud Platform (GKE). You will set technical direction, service boundaries, and standards, and guide engineering teams through highly complex design, migration, and infrastructure decisions.\nWhat the role offers:\nDefine the microservices decomposition strategy (e.g., strangler-fig pattern) and service/domain boundaries for the monolith\nOwn the technical roadmap for migrating from .NET Framework to modern .NET (.NET 8+)\nArchitect containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes deployment topology for Linux environments, including networking, scaling, and service mesh considerations\nDefine API contracts, inter-service communication (REST/gRPC/messaging), and data ownership boundaries\nProduce high-quality architecture and design specifications; deliver POCs and estimates at short notice on technology choices\nLead architecture/design reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards\nSet standards for observability, security, and GitLab CI/CD across all microservices\nMentor Lead and Senior Engineers; guide them to deliver high-quality design and code\nWork across teams (including the UI/Frontend team) to ensure interoperability and integration\nWhat you need to succeed:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field\n8+ years of enterprise product development/architecture experience\nExpert knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, and modern .NET (.NET 8+), with hands-on experience modernizing large enterprise applications.\nStrong hands-on experience designing microservices architectures and decomposing large monolithic systems using Domain-Driven Design and appropriate architectural patterns.\nExpert experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Helm, Ingress, ConfigMaps/Secrets) on Linux\nStrong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Artifactory for build/artifact and container image management, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)\nStrong experience with messaging and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Google Cloud Pub/Sub.\nExcellent understanding of API design (REST/gRPC), security, and performance at enterprise scale\nExcellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills\nDesired/Preferred skills:\nExperience with service mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd)\nExposure to AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot\nContent management and Capture (IDP) domain experience would be a plus\nExperience with OpenText products would be a plus\nOne last thing:\nOpenText is more than just a corporation, it's a global community where trust is foundational, the bar is raised, and outcomes are owned.
