The Opportunity

OpenText Japan is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Sr. Solution Consultant (Pre-Sales) to support and expand our business within Japan's Financial Services industry.

OpenText has a well-established presence among many of Japan's leading banks, insurance companies, securities firms, and other financial institutions. A significant portion of these customer relationships is built around our Business Network solutions, which play a critical role in enabling secure business transactions, partner collaboration, supply chain integration, digital document exchange, and operational process modernization.

As financial companies continue to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives, the ability to connect people, processes, systems, and business partners through modern digital ecosystems has become increasingly important. Therefore, Business Network, B2B Integration, and Supply Chain Management (SCM) transformation represent strategic growth areas for OpenText and our customers.

We are seeking a Solution Consultant with strong Financial Services industry expertise who can leverage deep knowledge of Business Network, B2B integration, business process digitization, ecosystem collaboration, and SCM-related business processes to help customers modernize operations and drive business transformation.

While Business Network will be the primary focus area, this role extends beyond a single product portfolio. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to customers, identifying broader business challenges and aligning the most appropriate OpenText solutions to address them, including:

The ideal candidate combines industry knowledge, business consulting capabilities, and technology expertise to engage executive stakeholders, understand strategic priorities, and design solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Through a Business Network and SCM-centric approach, you will play a key role in helping financial institutions improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance, reduce risk, enhance digital resilience, and accelerate innovation while expanding OpenText's strategic footprint across the Financial Services sector.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Services Industry Consulting

• Serve as a trusted advisor to customers in the Banking, Insurance, Capital Markets, and broader Financial Services sectors.
• Understand customer business strategies, operating models, regulatory requirements, and transformation priorities.
• Lead discovery sessions to identify business challenges and opportunities related to digital transformation, operational modernization, compliance, risk management, and ecosystem connectivity.
• Develop executive-level relationships and communicate the business value of OpenText solutions.

Solution Consulting & Pre-Sales Leadership

• Partner closely with Sales, Client Success, Services, and Product teams to drive new business opportunities and account expansion.
• Lead business and technical qualification, solution design, workshops, demonstrations, presentations, and proposal activities.
• Analyze complex customer requirements and develop compelling solution architectures leveraging OpenText platforms.
• Articulate business and technical value propositions tailored to the Financial Services industry.

Business Network & SCM Transformation

• Act as the primary subject matter expert for Business Network opportunities within the Financial Services sector.
• Help customers transform B2B integration, supplier connectivity, document exchange, partner collaboration, and business process automation.
• Advise customers on digital ecosystem strategies that improve resilience, efficiency, and operational agility.
• Support initiatives related to supply chain collaboration, digital transaction management, and cross-enterprise business processes.

One OpenText Solution Selling

• Identify opportunities to extend customer value through the broader OpenText portfolio.
• Collaborate across Business Units to develop integrated solutions that address customer needs holistically.
• Position Information Management, Cybersecurity, ITOM, AI, and Automation capabilities when appropriate.
• Drive a One OpenText approach to customer engagement and solution strategy.

Opportunity Development

• Lead responses to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and executive proposal activities.
• Develop business cases and ROI-based solution recommendations.
• Participate in strategic account planning and opportunity reviews.
• Ensure smooth transition from pre-sales activities to implementation and delivery teams.

Industry Leadership

• Stay current with Financial Services industry trends, regulations, digital transformation priorities, cybersecurity requirements, and emerging technologies.
• Represent OpenText at customer meetings, executive briefings, seminars, industry events, and conferences.
• Provide market feedback to product management and business leaders regarding industry-specific customer needs.

What It Takes

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in Solution Consulting, Pre-Sales, Sales Engineering, Technology Consulting, or Business Consulting.
• Demonstrated experience working with Financial Services customers, including banks, insurance companies, securities firms, or other regulated institutions.
• Proven ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders, including C-level executives.
• Experience leading complex enterprise software opportunities and solution discussions.

Industry Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Financial Services industry business processes and operating environments.
• Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, governance, and risk management requirements within the Financial Services sector.
• Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives in financial institutions.
• Understanding of ecosystem collaboration, business process modernization, or supply chain-related business operations is highly desirable.
