Join us.\nYour Impact\nAs a Senior Software Engineer, you'll use your deep technical expertise to design, build and optimize complex features across our image processing and OCR products. You'll handle the full development lifecycle: system analysis and design, research, implementation, performance tuning, maintenance and troubleshooting, across multiple platforms and devices. Beyond delivering features, you'll help shape the technical direction of the product by evaluating new technologies and driving how we adopt them.\nWhat the role offers\nMajor emphasis on writing excellent code following industry best practices\nCreate and maintain technical documentation\nDesign and development of Capture components related to capture, processing, and recognition of business documents\nOwnership and technical leadership end-to-end; design, development, validation and test automation, deployment, and support in production.\nWork closely with Quality Engineering to review test plans and test cases\nProvide technical guidance for major software initiatives, including technology standardization and modernization.\nTeam technical leadership: distribute tasks, track progress, technical risk assessment, problem solving, early risk notification, report progress and status to manager.\nPerform all assigned jobs with minimal assistance from the supervisor\nRespond promptly and professionally to bug reports and customer escalations\nWhat you need to succeed:\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field\n6+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise software products\nProven track record of building, maintaining and improving enterprise applications\nAdvanced proficiency in C++ and C, including modern C++ (C++11/14/17)\nStrong command of data structures, algorithms, multithreading and performance optimization\nSolid understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns, and judgment on when to apply them\nExperience with GCC Complier and Linux or open to work on Linux is a plus\nStrong debugging, triaging and root-cause analysis skills for complex technical issues\nAbility to understand, maintain and extend large, complex legacy codebases\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nOne last thing\nGood hands-on in software development using C++ and C\nExperience in development and support of enterprise applications\nExperience in use of Microsoft Visual Studio\nExperience with GIT\nExperience with Image processing software development and familiar with OCR technology is a plus\nKnowledge of C# and .NET framework is a plus\nExperience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Exposure to Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or equivalent \nExposure to AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot \nContent management and Capture (IDP) domain experience would be a plus \nOpenText's efforts to build an inclusive work environment go beyond simply complying with applicable laws.
