Cortex equipment management and order fulfillment software controls OPEX’s robotic automation equipment and acts as the brains of a fulfillment operation. Database interaction plays a central role in this application suite. Proficiency in this area is a core requirement for this role. This position will be responsible for designing new schemas and PL/PGSQL functions to ensure data consistency while allowing for deeply customizable business logic to meet each customer’s unique requirements. We subscribe to the philosophy of “smart database, thin clients” which places a significant portion of the application logic in the database. This is a coding position, not a DBA role. The candidate will require strong software development skills to pair with their database knowledge. This person will be expected to:\nDevelop well-crafted and thoroughly tested software. Our customers have unique demands which require creative testing solutions.\nInitiate and participate in code-reviews as reviewer and reviewee.\nAnalyze, plan, and break down projects into smaller tasks. \nHold themselves and the entire team accountable to the highest standards. Take what you learn and challenge status quo.\nParticipate in agile ceremonies as a member of the database scrum team.\nImprove quality and efficiency, in part by expanding use of automated testing.\nDeliver large, complex projects with quality.\nCoordinate multiple high priority tasks.\nSkills & Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, related field, or relevant experience. \nTechnical/Engineering experience in a software development organization 0-10 yrs. \nExperience developing new products is strongly preferred.\nExperience developing, coding, and interfacing with relational databases.\nPostgreSQL and PL/PGSQL preferred.
