This role ensures timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials critical to the production of automation systems. They will lead a team of procurement professionals and work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to maintain supply chain efficiency and meet dynamic project requirements. This position will be located in our Plano, TX office.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupervise and coordinate purchasing activities for automation components including PLCs, sensors, motors, wiring, mechanical frames, and software licenses.\nDevelop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with automation project timelines and budgets.\nEvaluate supplier capabilities, lead times, and technical compliance with engineering specifications.\nNegotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers of high-precision and specialized components.\nWill also be responsible for sourcing, planning, negotiating, and placing purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services in support of production operations.\nCollaborate with engineering to identify alternative parts or vendors during design changes or shortages.\nManage inventory levels of long lead-time and custom-built components to avoid production delays.\nLead the qualification of new suppliers, including audits and technical capability assessments.\nTrack key metrics such as cost savings, on-time delivery, and quality performance.\nMaintain ERP/MRP systems to ensure accurate order entry, tracking, and reporting.\nResolve procurement-related issues such as delays, part discrepancies, or quality concerns.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and supply chain operations.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.\n3-5 years of procurement experience in automation, electronics, or related manufacturing environment.\n1-2 years of leadership experience in a purchasing or supply chain function.\nFamiliarity with automation components and suppliers.\nStrong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.\nProficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific systems).\nWorking knowledge of technical drawings, BOMs, and part specifications.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.\nPreferred Certifications:\nCertified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) - APICS\nCertified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) - ISM\nLean or Six Sigma certification is a plus\nPhysical/Work Environments\nWill be working in a manufacturing/warehouse/office environment\nMost work will be performed in a cube/office environment but will be required to travel throughout the manufacturing facility as required\nSalary -
