You will typically take responsibility for complex OT/IT infrastructure challenges that span architecture, implementation, and transition into reliable operations.\n\nWhen a suitable assignment is confirmed, you will join Opoura in a permanent position and work primarily with the customer, usually on assignments lasting 6-12 months or longer.\n\nWe are currently seeing increasing demand for this level of expertise and already have active customer needs and concrete opportunities where relevant Architects may come into consideration. We are therefore building a talent pool of experienced profiles so we can move quickly when there is a strong match between a customer need and your background.\n\nThis is not a vacancy tied to one specific customer or immediate start date. The opportunity depends on the right assignment, but when the match is there, the process can move quickly.\n\nYour role\n\nYou will join OT Solutions within Opoura’s Digital Services Business Unit and work closely with customer specialists, operations teams, suppliers, engineers, and other technical stakeholders.\n\nMost assignments will place you directly within an existing customer environment. That means understanding the infrastructure already in place, identifying what needs to change, and helping the customer make technical decisions that work not only on paper, but also in implementation and day-to-day operations.\n\nThe role is deliberately broad enough for you to work across architecture and technical detail. You might be defining an infrastructure design, reviewing network segmentation, resolving gaps before operational handover, or helping improve the way recurring infrastructure activities are standardized and automated.\n\nYou will report to Kent Weiling, OT Solutions Manager, who will remain your direct manager and point of contact for sparring and alignment.\n\nOur customers within this area are currently concentrated in Greater Copenhagen, the Triangle Region and Central Jutland. You should expect to work at the customer site around 2-3 days per week, depending on the assignment, combined with remote work and occasional time at Opoura’s headquarters in Silkeborg. International travel is not expected.\n\nYour main responsibilities\n\nDepending on the customer assignment, you will:\n\nOwn OT/IT network and infrastructure solutions from technical assessment and architecture through implementation and operational handover.\n\nDesign, assess, and troubleshoot industrial networks, including routing, switching, VLANs, segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, remote access, and site connectivity.\n\nDrive technical site intake and operational readiness, including documentation, access, monitoring, ownership, maintainability, and closure of identified gaps.\n\nContribute senior expertise during implementation, commissioning, migrations, and complex root-cause analysis together with customer teams, suppliers, and operations.\n\nImprove lifecycle management, standardization, and automation through reusable designs, Infrastructure as Code, source-of-truth data, templates, and automated validation where relevant.\n\nTo be successful in this position, you\n\nUnderstand complex existing environments quickly and distinguish between what needs to change and what can remain.\n\nMove comfortably between architecture-level decisions and configuration-level detail.\n\nBuild credibility with customers through clear reasoning, dependable delivery, and direct technical communication.\n\nChallenge assumptions constructively and turn unclear technical issues into practical decisions and next steps.\n\nWork independently without losing alignment with the wider customer organization or Opoura.\n\nApply standards where they add value while remaining pragmatic when the environment calls for a different approach.\n\nYour background\n\nThis is a role for an experienced Architect who can contribute at senior level from the outset. We are not looking for one narrowly defined CV, and you do not need equal depth across every technology area.\n\nWe expect that you bring several of the following:\n\nSignificant experience within network and infrastructure engineering or architecture, combined with substantial exposure to OT, SCADA, industrial systems, or other operational environments.\n\nExperience taking infrastructure from assessment and design through implementation, handover, or operations.\n\nStrong industrial networking knowledge across areas such as routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, remote connectivity, and multi-site environments.\n\nExperience with infrastructure platforms and core services such as Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery.\n\nA practical understanding of secure and resilient OT infrastructure, including controlled access, hardening, maintainability, and lifecycle considerations.\n\nExperience with automation or Infrastructure as Code using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Git-based CI/CD, APIs, or source-of-truth platforms is an advantage.\n\nProfessional fluency in English is required. Danish or another Scandinavian language is an advantage, but not a requirement.\n\nExperience from wind, renewable energy, utilities, manufacturing, process industries, transport, system integration, or other critical infrastructure can all be relevant.
