We operate in a fast-paced environment where safety, operational excellence, innovation, and customer focus are at the center of everything we do.\nOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is expanding rapidly, and we are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our Infrastructure Operations team through our Trainee Program. This structured 12 week onboarding and development program is designed to accelerate the growth of early-career technicians by combining hands-on operational experience, technical training, mentorship, and career development. The trainee program involves 2 weeks of classroom-based training plus 10 weeks of on-the-job training at our data centres. This is a paid 12 week trainee program and successful candidates will be considered for full time permanent opportunities at the conclusion of the program.\nWe are looking for candidates from all backgrounds to join our mission-whether you are a recent high school graduate, have experience in retail, hospitality, construction, sales, or any other field, we welcome you to apply!\nMinimum Requirements\nMinimum Education: Completion of High School (HSC)\nStrong English communication skills, both written and verbal\nMust be an Australian citizen for security clearance purposes\nEssential Capabilities and Requirements\nBasic understanding of computer hardware and technology concepts.\nBasic understanding of mathematical and computational concepts.\nInterest in technology and a desire to build a career in data center operations.\nAbility to learn technical concepts and follow documented procedures with precision.\nAbility to lift up to 20 kg, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required.\nAbility to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, public holidays, and rotating shift schedules as required.\nAccess to own transportation for travel to data centres.\n Key Responsibilities\nData Center Operations & Hardware Support\nPerform rack-and-stack activities for servers, network devices, and supporting infrastructure.\nAssist with server deployments, hardware upgrades & component replacements.\nPerform basic break/fix tasks following approved procedures and escalation guidelines.\nNetwork Installation & Cabling\nInstall, label, organize, and maintain copper and fiber cabling infrastructure.\nAssist with network equipment installations and physical infrastructure modifications.\nVerify cable integrity and support connectivity validation activities.\nDevelop understanding of networking fundamentals and data center communication standards.\nTicket Management & Operational Support\nMonitor and respond to assigned work through approved ticketing systems.\nAccurately document completed work, incidents, changes, and troubleshooting activities.\nFollow service level agreements (SLAs), operational procedures, and escalation processes.\nEscalate issues requiring advanced technical support.\nInventory & Asset Management\nReceive, track, audit, stage, and ship equipment.\nMaintain accurate inventory and asset records.\nSupport warehouse, logistics, and material handling activities.\nSafety, Security & Compliance\nFollow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs)\nUtilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow site-specific safety requirements.\nLearning & Development\nActively participate in training, development, and certification opportunities.\nBuild foundational knowledge in server hardware, networking, Linux, infrastructure operations, and cloud technologies.\n Career Level -
