The successful candidate will deliver measurable improvements in reliability, scalability, performance, operational readiness, and customer experience across database platforms.\nThis role is ideal for an engineer who can think strategically, execute hands-on, influence technical direction, and help transform traditional database operations into proactive, automated, engineering-led reliability practices.\n Key Responsibilities\nOwn and improve database availability, performance, capacity, security, backup and recovery, and operational readiness.\nLead complex production incident triage, mitigation, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions to reduce repetitive incidents.\nDefine and improve operational standards, including runbooks, readiness reviews, escalation paths, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and service-health reporting.\nIdentify repetitive operational work and build automation to reduce manual toil and operational risk.\nLead strategic reliability initiatives, including OCI migrations, Exadata modernization, Autonomous Database adoption, database performance remediation, capacity planning, and GoldenGate reliability improvements.\nBuild or enhance API-driven automation, health checks, monitoring, capacity forecasting, and self-service engineering workflows.\nApply AI-assisted engineering practices to improve incident response, knowledge discovery, runbook automation, health checks, capacity analysis, and operational reporting.\nPartner with Customer Success, Infrastructure, Application, Security, Cloud Operations, and Product Engineering teams to address cross-functional reliability risks.\nLead technical design reviews, mentor engineers, and promote strong software engineering and SRE practices.\n\nLead complex engineering initiatives independently, from architecture and planning through delivery and production readiness.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.\n5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, Database Reliability Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Production Engineer, Oracle GoldenGate or similar role supporting business-critical services.\n\nExperience with Git, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation or orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, or equivalent.\nStrong technical judgment, problem-solving ability, and stakeholder communication skills.\nExperience leading cross-functional projects involving dependencies, risks, milestones, and executive-ready status reporting.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including technical designs, runbooks, post-incident reviews, and operational updates.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with OCI, Exadata, Oracle Autonomous Database, Data Guard, GoldenGate, or large-scale cloud database services.\nExperience defining SLIs, SLOs, alerting standards, capacity models, reliability scorecards, and service-health metrics.\nExperience creating API-driven automation, internal tools, self-service workflows, or engineering platforms.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted operations, agent-based workflows, MCP/API integrations, retrieval-based knowledge systems, or data and metrics pipelines.\nExperience applying AI responsibly within security, data-access, and change-control requirements.\nExperience supporting healthcare, regulated environments, or customer-facing enterprise
