The primary objective of the role is to maximize manufacturing performance by reducing process variability, improving operational efficiency, increasing system availability, and supporting the organization's digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives\nAccountabilities:\nDesign, implement, maintain, and optimize automated process control systems and control strategies.\nDevelop and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial communication network solutions.\nAnalyse process performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and operational optimization.\nMonitor and enhance process capability, equipment performance, and production efficiency.\nInvestigate process deviations and automation-related issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.\nLead root cause analysis activities and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.\nSupport commissioning, validation, and qualification of new equipment and process modifications.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, including functional specifications, control narratives, operating procedures, and system architecture diagrams.\nEnsure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, downtime, defects, and energy consumption.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend automation improvements that support operational excellence.\nProvide technical support and training to operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel.\nSupport capital projects involving automation, process control, system integration, and manufacturing technology upgrades.\nWork closely with Engineering and Digital Services teams to implement Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing initiatives.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing objectives and strategic initiatives for Micro Optics.\nContribute to the development and implementation of automation, control, and digitalization standards across the organization.\nDisclaimer:\nThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
