Overview : \n\nThe Senior GCP Cloud Network Engineer (C2) is a specialist Individual Contributor responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and optimizing GCP network infrastructure at scale.\n\nThis role focuses on deep technical execution, operational excellence, and collaboration, with growing influence on design decisions but without full architectural ownership (C3).\n\nThe candidate should be ready to provide support in US business hours / Shifts.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n\nGCP Network Engineering : \n\n- Design, implement, and operate GCP networking solutions\n\n- Work extensively with VPCs (custom & auto mode), subnets, routes, firewall rules, Cloud NAT, Cloud Router, and Internal & External Load Balancers\n\n- Support Shared VPC implementations across multiple projects\n\n- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of network services\n\nHybrid & Connectivity : \n\n- Implement and manage hybrid connectivity : NCC, Hub & Spoke, Cloud VPN (HA VPN), and Dedicated / Partner Interconnect\n\n- Troubleshoot connectivity issues between On-prem to GCP, GCP to GCP, and GCP to other cloud providers\n\n- Work closely with Infra and Network teams to align routing and IP planning\n\nSecurity & Network Controls : \n\n- Implement network security best practices\n\n- Design and manage firewall rules (hierarchical & project-level), Private Google Access, and service controls related to networking\n\n- Support security audits and compliance requirements\n\n- Collaborate with Security teams on network hardening\n\nAutomation & Infrastructure as Code : \n\n- Implement GCP networking using Terraform\n\n- Contribute to network Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment\n\n- Follow IaC best practices (state management, versioning, reviews)\n\n- Participate in code reviews and technical improvements\n\nOperations & Troubleshooting : \n\n- Troubleshoot complex network issues including latency, packet loss, routing conflicts, and load-balancer behavior\n\n- Use Cloud Logging, Monitoring, VPC Flow Logs\n\n- Participate in on-call or incident support rotations\n\n- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation\n\nCollaboration & Influence : \n\n- Work closely with Application, Platform/Cloud, Security & Infra teams\n\n- Provide technical guidance to C1 / junior engineers\n\n- Contribute to network standards and documentation\n\n- Participate in architecture and design discussions\n\nRequired Skills & Expertise : \n\n- Strong hands-on experience with GCP networking\n\n- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, and Load balancing concepts\n\n- Practical experience with VPC, Shared VPC, Cloud VPN & Interconnect, and Internal & External Load Balancers\n\n- Terraform experience for network infrastructure\n\n- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills\n\n- Experience working in production enterprise environments\nSkills\nGoogle Cloud Platform, Network Component,
