Performs equipment maintenance and repairs. Analyzes and solves technical maintenance problems. Pending approval of the Maintenance Team Leader, may arrange contracts for vendor services as it relates to maintenance activities.\nThrough On the Job Training (OJT), the maintenance technician will:\nWrite and perform preventative maintenance procedures:Use a variety of Microsoft applications and digital photography. \nConstruct and maintain a PM schedule for all major pieces of equipment in the factory and execute on it. \nRepair or replace defective components in the machinery, and order or travel out of house to get replacement parts as needed and account for the costs involved in purchasing through an expense log. \n\nCreate and review projects and work schedules (in MMS) and estimate cost and time requirements for job completion.\nRead and interpret blueprints, specification sheets and schematics.\nCreate or revise work process instructions.\nSuggest changes to improve process, product, or morale within the company.\nPerform any other function required by the managing staff.\nAdvancement through the maintenance ranks is attained via increasing levels of education, experience, industrial skills, math skills, computing skills, responsibility and leadership potential and effectiveness.\nEducation Requirements:\nHS diploma is required. AS or BS desirable. \nExperience working in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.\nElectricity/electrician and forklift operation/rigging are also desired.\nFamiliarity with Hazardous Materials Regulations, basic Microsoft PC applications are necessary. \n24-hour on-call duty is desired.\nAbility to follow directions and prioritize with attention to detail.\nAnalytical troubleshooting / problem solving and multi-tasking skills.\nThis position works within a manufacturing environment. The noise level can vary from quiet to loud frequencies.\nGenerally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.\nMay require area specific safety training.\nWork Requirements:\nPhysical Demands:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.\nThe job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.\nSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. \nRequires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.\nWork Environment:\nThis position works in a manufacturing environment.
