From employee-championed committees to celebratory events and learning paths, these are just a few of the ways we cultivate a positive and engaging work environment.\nWhat’s in It for You?\nGrowth Opportunities: Build your career through challenging, impactful projects and continuous learning.\nDiverse Workplace: Collaborate with a team of professionals from unique backgrounds, fostering innovation.\nFlexibility and Autonomy: Enjoy the freedom to take ownership of your work and drive meaningful results.\nLeadership Development: Develop your skills through mentorship and career progression opportunities.\nResponsibilities:\nTechnology Advisory & Delivery\nSupport project scoping, approach design, work planning, team structure, and effort and timeline estimation.\n\nDeliver technology risk and advisory engagements within agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.\n\nFacilitate client meetings and develop clear reports, presentations, recommendations, and other deliverables.\n\nIdentify, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints.\n\nTechnology Risk\nSupport a range of technology risk, cybersecurity, regulatory, governance, and controls advisory engagements.\n\nIdentify and assess technology risks and evaluate the effectiveness of associated governance, processes, and controls.\n\nApply recognized risk and control frameworks to assess client environments and develop practical recommendations.\n\nReview policies, standards, procedures, risk assessments, and control documentation for completeness, consistency, and alignment.\n\nSupport regulatory and industry-standard assessments, including evaluating whether relevant risks and requirements are appropriately addressed.\n\nIdentify opportunities to strengthen, standardize, rationalize, or automate risk and control activities.\n\nDemonstrate an understanding of control design and operating effectiveness, including control objectives, testing approaches, evidence requirements, and documentation of conclusions.\n\nSupport control assessment and testing activities across IT general controls, application controls, business controls, and technology-dependent controls.\n\nLeadership & Practice Development\nProvide day-to-day direction, coaching, and mentoring of junior team members.\n\nLead cross-functional teams and drive security initiatives to completion.\n\nContribute to business development, client delivery, and practice growth.\n\nSupport employee growth through Optimus SBR’s Career Development Program (CDP).\n\nQualifications:\nRequired:\n6+ years of experience in technology risk, IT audit, cybersecurity, control testing, regulatory compliance, or advisory consulting.\n\nStrong understanding of IT and business controls, including experience assessing control design or operating effectiveness.\n\nExperience reviewing policies, procedures, risks, and controls and identifying gaps or standardization opportunities.\n\nKnowledge of frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, NIST CSF, or ISO 27001.\n\nStrong analytical, project-management, communication, and client-engagement skills.\n\nAbility to coordinate workstreams and provide direction and quality review to junior resources.\n\nUniversity degree in business, accounting, technology, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.\n\nNice to Have:\nCertifications: CPA, CRISC, CISSP, CISA, CISM.\n\nUnderstanding of Canadian and US regulators (OSFI, OCC, FRB).\n\nExperience with SOC and SOX reporting.\n\nPrevious experience in a 1LoD or 2LoD role.\n\nExperience with control rationalization, regulatory mapping, procedure development, or identifying automation opportunities.\n\nFamiliarity with GRC, analytics, and automation tools.\n\nBig 4 or consulting firm background.\n\nInterview recording & AI notetakers\nDuring the interview process, we may use transcription or AI notetaking tools. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience and is subject to negotiation and subject to the candidate meeting the specific requirements or the role.
