This position will complete the monthly key control reconciliations, ensuring that all appropriate correcting adjustments are made, and finally, the role will support the preparation and analysis for periodic financial reporting and providing recommendation for the improvement of daily transaction processing.\nWhat you’ll do\nPayment Processing and Reconciliation\nEnsuring that disbursement transactions are processed on an accurate and timely basis in accordance with proper procedures and that controls are adhered to; responding to inquiries and discussing deviations with the appropriate staff member, and reporting problems to senior staff or the manager.\nProcessing payment transactions in multi-currencies for OPTrust overseas offices and applying the correct accounts coding.\nAdhering to CRA requirement regarding HST regulations; applying the correct treatment when booking payment transactions under different jurisdictions, including the recording of the self-assessed HST amounts as applicable.\nAssisting the Finance Real Estate team in processing their transactions accurately in Oracle Financials and meeting CRA requirements.\nMaintaining the Concur system for both cash and credit card transactions; setting up new employees as directed by HR; assisting new employees in using the system and assisting all employees to resolve issues when arising.\nPerforming monthly control reconciliations and disposition of identified issues on a timely basis from the reconciliation process. This includes reconciliation of the bank account balances, the Prepaid, Receivable and Payable suspense accounts, and ensuring that all transactions are properly reflected in the financial systems.\nAdministration of Corporate Card Program\nMaintaining and monitoring the monthly AMEX accruals spreadsheet for all divisions of OPTrust; ensuring that all accruals are complete and accurate.\nFollowing up on all outstanding AMEX accruals or reconciling items and ensuring the timely resolution to meet reporting deadlines.\nHST Review and Analysis\nEnsuring that required HST documentation is in place for invoices and where necessary, that HST is properly self-assessed under different jurisdictions and recorded in the general ledger to ensure timely remittance for any monies due;\nProviding information to other Finance staff for the completion of the annual HST return;\nParticipating in the annual HST review of invoices with the external consultant to identify possible savings and/or exposures relevant to OPTrust.\nAssisting in the analysis of HST exposure and reporting to department management.\nMiscellaneous\nDocumenting new procedures related to the payment transactions processing functions;\nAssisting with user acceptance testing and systems enhancements related to payment transactions processing;\nCompleting the month end bank reconciliations for all operating and entitlement accounts including the related journal entries; providing information to the Treasury Analyst on cash outflows to support cash management functions.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nEnsure clear understanding and adherence of all OPTrust’s policies, procedures, guidelines as well as living our values and fostering an inclusive culture.\nWhat you bring\nPost-secondary education, preferably accounting related.\nWorking towards a professional accounting designation would be an asset.\n3 years' experience in payment transactions processing in finance.\nKnowledge and working experience with key control reconciliations with substantial working experience in a Finance environment.\nProven professional experience with Concur, Oracle Financials and Oracle Accounts Payable preferred\nProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.\nProven analytical skills to identify information anomalies and their causes and to perform financial reconciliations.\nMathematical and analytical skills to ensure accurate processing of payment transactions and the timely completion of month end reconciliations.\nOrganization skills to effectively balance multiple tasks and prioritize work.\nEffective oral and written communication skills to provide information, and to discuss and resolve problems with external contacts and internal Finance team members and other OPTrust staff.\nEffective interpersonal skills for working with colleagues to support team goals.\nExemplify OPTrust’s values: collaboration and teamwork, integrity, respect, flexibility, excellence, and continuous improvement.\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.\nThe range of expected compensation for this position is $83,695.00 to $97,181.00 per year.\nPlease submit your application via Workday by November 13, 2026.\nServing a membership as diverse as ours and investing in a global market means cultivating an environment that embraces inclusion, diversity, and equity in everything we do.
