privileges, and access controls\nPerform routine maintenance such as reorg, runstats, vacuum,reindexing, and storage management\nSupport L2/L3 incidents and problem management, includingroot cause analysis\nPerformance & Optimisation\nAnalyse and tune slow queries, indexes, execution plans, andconfiguration parameters\nWork with developers on schema design, query optimisation,and data model changes\nPlan capacity and recommend scaling or archiving strategies\nSecurity & Compliance\nApply database hardening, encryption (at rest and intransit), and audit logging\nRemediate database vulnerabilities and apply securitypatches per policy\nSupport audits and provide evidence for compliancerequirements\nChange, Release & Migration\nReview and execute database changes and deployments throughchange management\nSupport data migration, version upgrades, and cloudmigration activities\nMaintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, anddatabase documentation\nVendor & Stakeholder Coordination\nCoordinate with vendors (e.g. IBM) on support cases andlicensing\nReport on database performance, availability, and capacityin service reviews\nQualifications:\nDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or arelated field (or equivalent experience)\n4-7 years of hands-on DBA experience in productionenvironments\nStrong experience with both IBM Db2 (LUW) and PostgreSQL\nProven experience in backup and recovery, replication,HA/DR, and performance tuning\nExperience with Linux (RHEL preferred) and shell scripting\nPreferred certifications: IBM Certified DatabaseAdministrator (Db2), PostgreSQL certification (e.g. EDB), AWS CertifiedDatabase Specialty, ITIL 4 Foundation\nSkills:\nStrong SQL skills and database internals knowledge\nScripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible) for routinetasks\nFamiliarity with monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana,CloudWatch, pgAdmin, Db2 monitoring tools)\nWorking knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and containerisedenvironments\nFamiliarity with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow) and changemanagement processes\nStrong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, andclear communication\nCalm and effective under pressure during incidents\nSkills\nIncident Support, Monitoring Tools, Preventive Maintenance, Patching of Databases, Role Modelling, Stay Calm Under Pressure, Operations Management,
