You’ll secure the critical materials, components and services behind our technology roadmap, creating a resilient, compliant and cost-effective operation that scales with our ambitions.\nThe Role\nYou’ll lead OQC’s global Supply Chain and Logistics function, with accountability across procurement, supplier management, logistics, stores and supply-chain compliance. You’ll shape the organisation, lead through managers and specialist teams, and advise the Executive Team and, where required, the Board on performance, risk and investment.\nRegular national and international travel is required to OQC locations, including the UK and Spain, and to suppliers, partners and logistics providers. You may need to respond outside normal working hours to significant supply-chain, logistics or compliance issues with material business impact. You’ll also be trusted with sensitive supplier, commercial and compliance information.\nWhat You'll Be Working On\nSet and deliver the global strategy, aligning supply-chain roadmaps, capability and investment with OQC’s technology, operational and growth priorities.\nBuild and develop the function, leading managers and specialist teams, evolving the operating model, and owning budgets, resources and performance.\nShape strategic sourcing and supplier partnerships, leading major negotiations and securing critical materials, components and services at the required quality, cost and lead time.\nStrengthen supplier performance and resilience, setting standards for quality and development, and using market insight to address supplier, capacity, geopolitical, continuity and compliance risks.\nSet procurement and purchase-to-pay governance, establishing commercial controls and clear accountability for customs, trade and export compliance.\nScale logistics, stores and inventory management, ensuring effective movement, storage and control of materials across OQC locations.\nTurn data into better decisions, establishing performance measures and leading cross-functional transformation and disruption response with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Legal to protect delivery.\nWhat We're Looking For\nSignificant senior leadership experience across supply chain, procurement and/or logistics in a complex technology, engineering, manufacturing or R&D-led organisation.\nProven experience leading managers and multidisciplinary teams, developing organisational capability and delivering supply-chain strategies aligned with business and technical priorities.\nA strong track record in strategic sourcing, category management, major negotiations and contracting, including high-value, technically critical procurement and complex national and international supplier relationships.\nExperience establishing supplier performance, quality and resilience frameworks, with strong procurement governance and purchase-to-pay process design skills.\nExperience leading cross-functional improvement, transformation or systems initiatives, using data and management information to improve performance and guide senior decisions.\nStrong financial and commercial judgement, confident executive communication and influencing skills, and a collaborative leadership style that creates clear accountability.\nA relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business, Operations or a related discipline.\nThe 'Nice-to-Haves'\nExperience in quantum technology, semiconductors, electronics, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, defence or another complex deep-technology environment.\nExperience with NetSuite or comparable ERP platforms, procurement-system optimisation, or advanced spend and supply-chain analytics.\nAdditional expertise in supplier quality management, sustainability, responsible sourcing, or programme and project management.\nExperience in fast-growing, changing environments, with a strong focus on coaching, continuous improvement and long-term supplier partnerships.\nMCIPS or an equivalent recognised procurement or supply-chain qualification; a relevant postgraduate qualification; or qualifications in programme management, project management or trade/export compliance.\nWhy Join OQC\nYou will join a world-class team at the forefront of the next computational era.
