The technical decisions our Department of Defense customers make today determine how some of the nation's most critical workloads will be protected, modernized, scaled, and sustained for years to come.\nWe're looking for an experienced Cloud Solution Engineer to become a trusted technical partner to strategic Department of Defense accounts, with primary alignment to the Department of the Army.\nThis isn't a role where you'll move from one disconnected opportunity to the next. You'll be account-aligned, developing a deep understanding of your customers' missions, environments, programs, stakeholders, and technology priorities. You'll partner closely with Oracle sales leaders and remain engaged throughout the customer lifecycle-from early discovery and architecture through technical evaluation, award, deployment, adoption, and expansion.\nYou'll be Oracle's technical presence in the account and an advocate for the customer inside Oracle.\nThis is a hybrid position that involves a minimum 3 days a week in-office work and/or meetings at the client site. Candidates must be based in the greater Washington DC area\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Cloud Solution Engineer, you'll own the technical relationship with your assigned accounts and help customers determine how cloud, data, and emerging technologies can support their mission.\nYou'll:\nServe as the dedicated technical advisor to named Department of Defense accounts and partner with account executives throughout the sales cycle.\nLead technical discovery to understand customer missions, existing environments, modernization priorities, program requirements, and technical challenges.\nArchitect cloud solutions supporting programs of record, modernization initiatives, migrations, and new mission workloads.\nDesign and deliver compelling technical demonstrations, workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and proofs of concept tailored to customer requirements.\nLead technical contributions to RFIs, RFPs, formal evaluations, and complex government procurements.\nTranslate mission and program requirements into reference architectures, migration strategies, and longer-term technical roadmaps.\nRemain engaged after award to help customers successfully deploy workloads and drive adoption, consumption, and expansion.\nDevelop lasting relationships with stakeholders ranging from engineers and architects to program offices and senior technical leadership.\nBring the customer's voice back into Oracle, working with specialists, product management, engineering, and partners to address requirements and technical gaps.\nHelp customers explore the secure adoption of AI and generative AI, including cloud-based AI infrastructure and GPU-enabled workloads.\nWhat You'll Bring\nWe're looking for someone who combines strong cloud architecture expertise with the ability to earn credibility and trust in complex customer environments.\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in solution engineering, technical presales, cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or a related customer-facing technical role.\nHands-on experience with at least one major hyperscale cloud platform: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). OCI experience is preferred.\nStrong understanding of cloud architecture concepts spanning areas such as compute, storage, networking, databases, identity and access management, containers/Kubernetes, and observability.\nDemonstrated ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical architectures and solutions.\nExperience building and sustaining technical relationships within large government, defense, or enterprise accounts.\nExperience supporting complex technical evaluations, solution demonstrations, proofs of concept, or formal RFI/RFP procurement processes.\nStrong presentation, demonstration, and whiteboarding skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both deeply technical audiences and senior stakeholders.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.\nExperience That Will Help You Stand Out\nWe're especially interested in candidates who bring experience in one or more of these areas:\n Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and the broader Oracle technology portfolio.\nDepartment of Defense or federal government cloud environments.\nAn active Secret clearance or higher.\nDoD security and compliance frameworks, including DISA SRG Impact Levels IL4, IL5, and IL6, FedRAMP High, NIST SP 800-53, and ATO processes.\nCloud-based AI, generative AI, or GPU infrastructure.\nSupporting cloud migrations, application modernization, data platforms, or mission-critical workloads.\nDoD acquisition processes, contract vehicles, formal technical evaluations, and program office dynamics.\nOCI certifications such as OCI Architect Associate or OCI Architect Professional, or comparable certifications from AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nWhy This Role?\nThis opportunity offers something different from a traditional technical presales position: depth, ownership, and mission impact.\nYou'll have the opportunity to become deeply embedded in a select group of strategic accounts rather than simply supporting transactions. You'll learn the customer's mission, understand where their technology environment is headed, and help shape technical decisions over time.\nYou'll also have the breadth of Oracle behind you-bringing together cloud infrastructure, data, security, AI, engineering expertise, and specialized resources to solve complex customer challenges.\nMost importantly, the technology decisions you help influence support organizations responsible for protecting the nation and executing some of its most critical missions.\nIf you're a cloud technologist who enjoys solving difficult problems, building trusted customer relationships, and connecting technology to meaningful mission outcomes, we'd like to hear from you.\nI positioned the hyperscaler requirement prominently enough to attract strong AWS/Azure/GCP candidates while making OCI the preferred-not exclusionary-background. I also removed all IC3/IC4 and leveling references and standardized the experience requirement at 5+ years.\nCome Join Us!\n#LI-PA4\nDisclaimer:Certain U.S. based or U.S. customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements.\nRange and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only\nUS: Hiring Range in USD from: $118,700 to $194,400 per annum.
