Key Responsibilities\nPlatform Software Development:\nOperate a platform team roadmap that enforces compatibility, versioning, and safe rollout policies for shared services and SDKs.\n\nDrive team-level observability baselines (SLOs, error budgets) and resilience patterns; ensure adherence during releases.\n\nCoordinate cross-team incident response for platform issues, ensuring downstream consumer safety and clear remediation paths.\n\nSoftware Development and Coding - Design, Testing, and Optimization:\nManages team and may contribute to the design and development of code and software solutions and identifies and analyzes requirements.\n\nProvides coaching and process execution for team to develop and guide new software features and enhancements following design specifications, ensuring accessibility, and to develop documents to clarify software design and code.\n\nLeads code reviews to drive improvements.\n\nLeads and reviews team to conduct debugging and troubleshooting to identify and fix software issues within a single component or functional area.\n\nEnsures team implements software testing (e.g., functional and non-functional), quality assurance processes, software error logging, monitoring, and observability for effective debugging.\n\nLeverages prior experience and analysis to conduct performance profiling and optimization of coding.\n\nGuides team in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to application programming interface (API) functionality and integration.\n\nManages team to implement API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.\n\nSoftware Architecture - Software System Structural Design:\nManages team to design and develop software, systems, and services.\n\nProvides technical leadership and technical guidance and domain expertise in software architecture decisions and best practices.\n\nGuides team and conducts periodic reviews and ensures adherence to architectural framework(s) and internal development practices and standards.\n\nCollaborates with stakeholders within own group to align and build software architecture with business and/or customer goals and priorities\n\nImplements performance optimization and scalability strategies in software design.\n\nImpacts immediate team to conduct regular technology research and evaluation for architectural enhancements.\n\nIssue/Defect Collaboration - Software Products Support:\nMay collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to understand customer issues and align solutions.\n\nManages team to provide technical guidance and appropriately prioritize support to customers regarding reported issues.\n\nEnables direct reports to advocate for customers' interests and suggests product enhancements based on feedback.\n\nCommunicates regularly with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction through timely resolution of issues and effective communication.\n\nProvides guidance to team on processes for handling customer issues and/or defects and directs them to training opportunities as needed.\n\nInvestigates and troubleshoots product maintenance issues to ensure customer agreement on short- and long-term solutions.\n\nPractices and Standards Compliance - Security and Compliance:\nCollaborates with the team and other stakeholders to establish, follow, and enforce documented security criteria, development industry best practices and processes, and coding standards.\n\nEnsures team adherence to broad acceptance criteria.\n\nImplements moderately complex secure software development practices to prevent security vulnerabilities.\n\nDevelopment Operations - System Maintenance:\nManages team to perform periodic maintenance and testing operations for systems that require upgrading or patching for (e.g., for critical vulnerabilities).\n\nGuides team to follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for development and drive improvements, ensuring automation, testing, and debugging of systems to ensure service/product availability, health, support, and reliability.\n\nCore Responsibilities\nPlanning & Execution:\nCreates and owns the execution plan for the team's work and multiple projects or initiatives, monitoring timelines and budgets when applicable to ensure projects are completed on time and in adherence with requirements. Delegates work across the team and helps them prioritize their work. Identifies resource needs and adapts plans based on changing priorities and business needs.\n\nCollaboration & Partnership:\nStrengthens collaborative partnerships across teams to align expectations and shared objectives. Guides team members to build relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and/or customers to ensure effective collaboration. Practices active listening and asks insightful questions to promote an inclusive culture.\n\nProblem Solving:\nLeads team to identify and address moderately complex operational and/or technical issues in accordance with standard practices, providing guidance as appropriate.
