Within Accounts Receivable, the Cash Applications function manages customer-payment activities and helps ensure receipts are accurately identified, applied, reconciled, and reflected against the appropriate customer invoices.\nThis position supports LAD countries and works closely with customers, Collections, Accounts Receivable, Sales, and other internal teams to resolve payment-application issues and maintain accurate customer accounts.\nJob Summary\nThe Cash Application Analyst - Portuguese is responsible for managing customer payments for LAD countries from GFIC.\nThe role identifies incoming customer payments and accurately applies them to the appropriate Accounts Receivable invoices. It investigates and resolves unapplied cash, unidentified receipts, short payments, overpayments, and other payment discrepancies.\nThe analyst collaborates closely with Portuguese-speaking customers, Collections, AR, Sales, and other internal stakeholders to support timely and accurate cash posting. The position also performs reconciliations, supports month-end activities, maintains records and reporting, and contributes to process improvement and root-cause resolution.\n Key Responsibilities\nCash Application\nManage customer-payment activities for assigned LAD countries.\nIdentify customer receipts and accurately apply payments to the appropriate AR invoices.\nEnsure timely and accurate cash posting.\nMaintain accurate customer-payment records and supporting documentation.\nPayment Exception Resolution\nResearch and resolve unapplied cash.\nInvestigate unidentified receipts.\nResolve short payments and overpayments.\nInvestigate payment discrepancies and determine appropriate next steps.\nWork with relevant stakeholders to obtain missing payment or remittance information.\nCustomer & Stakeholder Collaboration\nCollaborate closely with customers and Collections to identify payments and determine appropriate invoice allocation.\nPartner with Accounts Receivable, Sales, and other internal teams to resolve account issues.\nUse Portuguese-language capability where required to support LAD customer-payment operations.\nReconciliation & Month-End\nPerform customer-account and payment reconciliations.\nInvestigate reconciliation differences and coordinate resolution.\nSupport relevant month-end close activities.\nMaintain accurate operational records and reporting.\nProcess Improvement\nIdentify recurring cash-application issues.\nSupport root-cause analysis of recurring payment discrepancies.\nIdentify opportunities to improve cash-application accuracy and efficiency.\nContribute to process improvements that reduce recurring payment-application issues.\nMandatory Requirements\nBased on the supplied hiring requirement and responsibilities:\nPortuguese-language proficiency appropriate for the customer and operational interactions required by the role.\nHands-on capability in Cash Application / customer-payment processing.\nAbility to identify and apply customer payments to AR invoices accurately.\nExperience or demonstrated capability in payment/account reconciliation.\nAbility to investigate and ERP/cash-application systems.\nExperience handling refunds, chargebacks, payment-on-account, unapplied cash, or complex payment matching.\nExperience supporting process improvement, operational reporting, or automation initiatives.\nExperience working with multinational customers and geographically distributed Finance teams.\nSelf-Assessment Questions\nAm I proficient in Portuguese at the
