Team members partner with Compute, Networking, Security, Data Center Engineering, and Hardware Development to launch and operate platforms reliably at scale.\nJob Summary\nAs a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, develop, operate, and debug software and services that power OCI’s bare metal and GPU infrastructure. You’ll build scalable distributed services and tooling, work across the stack from orchestration to Linux systems, and help bring new server platforms into production with high reliability and low operational overhead.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop major software components for OCI’s compute infrastructure.\nBuild and operate scalable services that automate server provisioning, configuration, security, and validation.\nDevelop tooling for hardware bring-up, platform lifecycle management, and firmware orchestration.\nTroubleshoot issues across distributed services, Linux systems, and hardware integrations.\nCollaborate with partner teams to launch and maintain platforms across AMD, Intel, Arm, and NVIDIA systems.\nImprove service reliability, scalability, performance, improvements, and deliver solutions in an agile environment.\nQualifications & Skills\nMandatory\n3-8+ years of software development experience, including building or operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.\nStrong coding skills in Java or C++, plus experience with Python or another scripting language.\nStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems fundamentals.\nExperience or exposure to Linux, operating systems concepts, and systems troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with TCP/IP, HTTP, and standard network architectures.\nUnderstanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, or distributed persistence.\nStrong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and collaborate across teams.\nComfort using AI agents and prompt engineering to support software development, code analysis, and debugging.\nGood to Have\nTerraform or other infrastructure-as-code experience.\nExperience with Docker, SQL, or Java web services.\nSystems engineering experience, including performance tuning.\nFirmware or hardware experience, especially with servers, GPUs, BMCs, NICs, SmartNICs, or ILOMs.\nExperience building multi-tenant or virtualized infrastructure.\nSelf-Assessment Questions\nHave I built or operated distributed services that needed to remain available and reliable at scale?\nCan I contribute hands-on
