We solve distributed systems challenges at the intersection of software, networking, and AI infrastructure: maintaining consistent network state, coordinating concurrent changes, recovering from partial failures, and automating infrastructure changes safely.\nWe are looking for a Senior Manager, Core Infrastructure Engineering to lead and grow an engineering team delivering these services. You will combine people leadership, technical judgment, and execution to help OCI bring new AI network capacity online efficiently and operate it reliably.\nYou will partner with senior engineers to set technical direction, translate infrastructure priorities into an achievable roadmap, and build an environment where engineers take ownership, develop their expertise, and deliver meaningful results.\n What makes this work interesting:\nDirect impact on AI infrastructure. Hire, coach, and develop engineers solving complex problems in a rapidly evolving domain.\n\nWhat you will do:\nLead an engineering team responsible for distributed services supporting network modeling, configuration, and lifecycle operations across OCI’s AI and cloud infrastructure.\n\nOwn the team’s roadmap, priorities, and delivery commitments, balancing new capabilities with reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.\n\nPartner with technical leads and principal engineers to evaluate architectural tradeoffs, resolve technical risks, and guide the evolution of the services.\n\nEstablish clear ownership and execution plans for complex projects, manage dependencies, and remove obstacles to delivery.\n\nWork with network engineering, infrastructure delivery, operations, and adjacent software teams to align requirements and deliver capabilities across service boundaries.\n\nBuild a culture of production ownership, with effective testing, observability, operational readiness, and safe rollout practices.\n\nLead the team’s operational performance, ensuring sustainable on-call practices and turning incident findings into lasting engineering improvements.\n\nHire and develop engineers through regular feedback, coaching, career planning, and thoughtful delegation.\n\nFoster an inclusive environment where engineers can challenge assumptions, raise risks early, and contribute to decisions.\n\nCommunicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks clearly to engineering leadership and partner teams.\n\nWhat you bring:\nSubstantial software engineering experience, including experience managing teams that build and operate production services.\n\nA record of delivering complex software initiatives through effective planning, technical judgment, and collaboration across teams.\n\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, service architecture, reliability, and the software development lifecycle.\n\nExperience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers, including supporting senior technical contributors.\n\nAbility to engage deeply in technical discussions, ask incisive questions, and help teams make sound architectural decisions.\n\nExperience owning production services and improving operational health through engineering investment.\n\nAbility to turn ambiguous business and infrastructure needs into clear priorities and achievable plans.\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to build productive partnerships across organizational boundaries.\n\nExperience that will help you succeed:\nLeading teams building cloud infrastructure, network automation, configuration management, or infrastructure control systems.\n\nInfrastructure software supporting AI/ML platforms, GPU clusters, or large-scale compute environments.\n\nManaging services with demanding availability, scalability, and change-safety requirements.\n\nLeading delivery across software engineering, physical infrastructure, networking, and operations teams.\n\nYou do not need prior experience with every technology in our environment.
