In this role, you will work with experienced engineers, product managers, applied scientists, and customer-facing teams to deliver reliable software, understand customer workflows, and contribute to rapid product iteration. You will develop production-quality components while building depth in cloud platforms, distributed data systems, scientific workflows, and AI-enabled services.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software components for Molecular Platform services.\n\nImplement backend services, APIs, data-ingestion and processing components, workflow integrations, automation, and operational tooling.\n\nWork with engineers and product managers to understand requirements and translate customer scenarios into well-defined software features.\n\nContribute to rapid iteration by investigating customer feedback, troubleshooting issues, and improving product functionality.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested code using established OCI engineering practices.\n\nBuild unit, integration, and functional tests; participate in performance and resilience testing.\n\nAdd logging, metrics, telemetry, health checks, and alerts to improve service observability.\n\nHelp investigate, debug, and resolve service issues in development and production environments.\n\nParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, documentation, and engineering-planning activities.\n\nAutomate repeatable tasks related to deployment, configuration, testing, and service operations.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n3+ years of professional software-developmentexperience, including experience delivering production software or services.\n\nStrong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Go, Python, C++, C#, or similar.\n\nExperience developing backend applications, cloud-native services, distributed-system components, data-processing applications, or workflow systems.\n\nAbility to independently deliver well-scoped features and components, with guidance on broader technical design and prioritization.\n\nExperience working collaboratively in an Agile or iterative software-developmentenvironment.\n\nCuriosity and willingness to learn rapidly from customers, product managers, applied scientists, and senior engineers.\n\nFamiliarity with REST APIs, source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and cloud services.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nResponsibilities\nSoftware Development\nImplement features and services from defined requirements and technical designs.\n\nDevelop maintainable code, APIs, data-processing components, integrations, and automated tests.\n\nDebug defects and improvethe performance, reliability, and usability of owned components.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve technical quality.\n\nCustomer-Focused Delivery\nSupport the team in understanding customer workflows, technical requirements, and feedback.\n\nHelp translate feedback into actionable engineering tasks and product improvements.\n\nContribute to fast, iterative delivery while maintaining engineering discipline and quality.\n\nLearn the scientific and technical domain and identify opportunities to make solutions reusable across customers.\n\nReliability, Security, and Operations\nAdd monitoring, logging, and telemetry to owned components.\n\nAssist with service troubleshooting, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.\n\nFollow secure-developmentpractices and OCI standards for reliability, availability, privacy, and operational readiness.\n\nContribute to runbooks, support documentation, and automation for deployments, testing, and routine operations.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with OCI, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or another cloud platform.\n\nExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, distributed data systems, event-driven architectures, or workflow orchestration.\n\nExposure todata engineering, data platforms, scientific data, data pipelines, metadata management, or data governance.\n\nExposure to AI/ML platforms, model training, model-serving systems, RAG, evaluation harnesses, AI agents, MCP, or enterprise AI integrations.\n\nExperience supporting scientific, research, life-sciences, or enterprise platform workloads.\n\nDisclaimer:Certain U.S. based or U.S. customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements.\nRange and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only\nUS: Hiring Range in USD from: $104,500 to $234,600 per annum.
