Make a difference for the world as part of a company leading the electric vehicle revolution.\nPosition Summary\nThe Quality Engineer owns quality outcomes on both ends of the product lifecycle - working upstream with suppliers to keep defects out of incoming parts, and downstream with customers and the field to resolve issues quickly and drive them back to root cause. This dual Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) and Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) scope makes this a connective role: you'll use what you learn in the field to tighten supplier controls, and what you know about supplier processes to speed up field investigations. You'll work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service to keep quality moving in the right direction across the business.\nPosition Responsibilities\nSupplier Quality Engineering\nLead supplier quality activities, including incoming inspection oversight, supplier audits/assessments, and PPAP/APQP review and approval for new or changed parts.\nDrive supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, fishbone) for supplier-caused nonconformances.\nPartner with Purchasing and Supply Chain to qualify new suppliers and monitor ongoing supplier performance (scorecards, PPM, quality trends).\nReview supplier control plans and FMEAs, and support supplier development initiatives that improve quality and cost at the source.\nCustomer Quality Engineering\nInvestigate and resolve customer-reported quality issues and field complaints in partnership with Service and Engineering.\nLead root cause analysis and corrective action (8D) for field and warranty issues, including containment and verification of effectiveness.\nAnalyze warranty and field data to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and report findings to leadership.\nShared / Cross-Functional\nMaintain and improve the quality management system (QMS) and related documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and control plans.\nSupport internal audits and continuous improvement activities (Lean, Six Sigma, kaizen).\nApply statistical quality tools (SPC, Cpk/Ppk) to monitor process and product performance.\nTrack and report quality KPIs, including supplier PPM, customer PPM, warranty rate, and cost of quality.\nPosition Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.\n3+ years of quality engineering experience that includes demonstrated work in both supplier quality engineering and customer/field quality engineering.\nWorking knowledge of core quality tools: PPAP, APQP, FMEA, 8D, root cause analysis, and control plans.\nExperience conducting supplier audits or assessments and managing corrective action processes.\nExperience investigating and resolving field or customer quality issues, including the use of warranty or field data.\nStrong analytical skills, with comfort using statistical quality tools (SPC, Cpk/Ppk).\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across suppliers, customers, and internal teams.\nWillingness to travel occasionally to supplier and customer sites.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in automotive, heavy-duty truck, or industrial equipment manufacturing.\nASQ certification (CQE, CSQP) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.\nExperience with electric vehicle components, such as batteries, motors, or high-voltage systems.\nExperience working within ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality management systems, and with QMS or ERP software.\nKey Skills & Competencies\nRoot Cause Problem Solving - systematically diagnoses supplier and field issues down to true root cause, not just symptoms.\nCross-Functional Influence - gets alignment and action from suppliers, customers, Engineering, and Service without direct authority over them.\nData-Driven Analysis - uses quality, warranty, and supplier data to prioritize issues and measure the impact of corrective actions.\nRelationship Management - builds collaborative relationships with suppliers and customers while holding firm on quality standards.\nAttention to Detail -
