Reporting to the Field Installation Team Lead, you will contribute to installation excellence, customer enablement, field support, and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact customer satisfaction and product adoption.\nThis role can be held remotely in Texas, Arkansas, or Oklahoma. This position averages 80 % travel.\nWhat You’ll Do\nInstallation & Deployment\nPerform field installations across ORBCOMM’s telematics, in-cab, and related hardware solutions.\nSupport pilot programs, large-scale deployments, and product rollouts.\nEnsure installations are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with project timelines and service expectations.\nMaintain consistency across installations while adhering to established standards and best practices.\nTraining & Customer Enablement\nDeliver hands-on training to customers, partners, and third-party installers.\nDemonstrate installation procedures, product functionality, and troubleshooting techniques.\nHelp drive successful adoption of ORBCOMM solutions through effective knowledge transfer and support.\nTechnical Support & Troubleshooting\nProvide on-site and remote technical support during and after installations.\nDiagnose and resolve hardware, wiring, connectivity, and installation-related issues.\nEscalate and collaborate with internal teams as needed to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.\nDocumentation & Process Improvement\nMaintain accurateinstallationrecords, field reports, and supporting documentation.\nAssist with the development, review, validation, and continuous improvement of installation guides and technical materials.\nIdentify opportunities to improve installation processes, tools, and documentation.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Engineering and Product teams to support new hardware introductions and product enhancements.\nProvide field feedback to help improve products, installation methods, and customer experience.\nCommunicate regularly with Field Services, Customer Success, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders.\nWho You Are\nYou are a technically skilled and customer-focused professional who thrives in field environments and takes pride in delivering quality work. You combine strong troubleshooting abilities with excellent communication skills and enjoy helping customers, partners, and installers succeed.\nIf you have:\n3-5+ years of experience in field installation, telematics, fleet technology, or a relatedtechnical field.\nHands-on experience with in-cab systems, telematics devices, fleet technology, or similar hardware solutions.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.\nExperience reading and interpreting technical installation documentation and wiring diagrams.\nAbility to troubleshoot hardware, wiring, and connectivity issues.\nExperience working in field environments, including vehicles, depots, and customer locations.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nDemonstrated ability to train, coach, and support customers, partners, or installers.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nPreferred: Experience using mobile installation applications or field service tools.\nPreferred: Familiarity with creating training materials, instructional content, or installation documentation.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.\nCommitment to quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nLeverage AI-enabled tools and automation to support daily tasks and productivity.\nCommitment to continuous learning in digital and AI literacy.\nAdditionally:\nAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis.\nAbility to work in and around trucks, trailers, refrigerated units, and heavy equipment.\nAbility to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and climb while performing installations and troubleshooting.\nAbility to work in tight or confined spaces, including under dashboards, inside cabs, and around equipment compartments.\nAbility to use hand and power tools safely and effectively for extended periods.\nAbility to stand, walk, and perform physical work for prolonged periods throughout the workday.\nAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.\nAbility to climb ladders and safely access installation locations at various heights when required.\nAbility to travel frequently and operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.\nThen we want to meetyou!\nThe Benefits of Working Here\nA career with ORBCOMM offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills and expand your expertise in a collaborative, innovative environment.
