This role offers the opportunity to influence engineering standards, modernize infrastructure practices, and develop a culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nThis position will be based in our Hyderabad office, working onsite.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead and Developthe DevOps Function\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure engineers.\nEstablish team goals, performance expectations, and measurable outcomes.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nSupport employee growth through coaching, mentoring, career development, and regular feedback.\nDrive DevOps Strategy and Engineering Excellence\nDefine and execute the organization's DevOps strategy, roadmap, and engineering standards.\nDrive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and configuration management practices.\nEvaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and platforms that improve engineering productivity and operational reliability.\nBalance technical debt, operational risk, business priorities, and engineering capacity.\nBuild and Operate Secure, Scalable Infrastructure\nDesign, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, highly available cloud infrastructure.\nEstablish best practices for cloud operations, system reliability, observability, performance, and availability.\nParticipate in capacity planning, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure lifecycle management.\nManage cloud infrastructure costs and identify opportunities for optimization.\nImprove Delivery, Reliability, and Operational Performance\nOwn and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.\nImplement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management capabilities.\nLead root-cause analysis activities and ensure corrective and preventative actions are completed following major incidents.\nEstablish and track operational metrics including deployment frequency, lead time, availability, reliability, and recovery time.\nPartner Across the Organization\nCollaborate with Engineering, Security, Architecture, and Product teams to improve software delivery and operational efficiency.\nPromote DevSecOpspractices, including security controls, vulnerability management, access management, and compliance requirements.\nDevelop documentation, standards, runbooks, and operational procedures.\nManage relationships with technology vendors and service providers as needed.\nCommunicate technical risks, opportunities, and recommendations to both technical and executive stakeholders.\nWho You Are\nYou are a hands-on technology leader who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for building high-performing teams. You have experience implementing modern DevOps practices and creating scalable, reliable cloud environments while enabling engineering teams to deliver at speed and with quality.\nIf you have:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n7+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), systems engineering, or related disciplines.\n3+ years of experience leading or managing technical teams.\nStrong experience with at least one major cloud platform, including AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.\nHands-on experience with CI/CD tools, pipelines, and deployment practices.\nStrong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar platforms.\nExperience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.\nStrong understanding of Windows, Linux, networking, databases, and distributed systems.\nExperience with observability, monitoring, logging, and incident response practices.\nWorking knowledge of security principles and DevSecOpsmethodologies.\nStrong understanding of Git and modern software development workflows.\nExcellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred:\nExperience building or scaling DevOps or SRE organizations.\nExperience supporting multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.\nExperience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and reliability engineering principles.\nExperience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or similar tools.\nExperience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.\nRelevant cloud or DevOps certifications.\nExperience managing cloud budgets and driving infrastructure cost optimization.\nLeverage AI-enabled tools and automation to support daily tasks and productivity.\nCommitment to continuous learning in digital and AI literacy.\nThen we want to meetyou!\nThe Benefits of Working Here\nA career with ORBCOMM offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills and expand your expertise in a collaborative, innovative environment.
