We operate in an onsite work environment.\nWhat You'll Do\nEngineering Leadership & Delivery\nLead software engineering teams responsible for the development and operation of ORBCOMM's cloud-based IoT, asset intelligence solutions and AI First offerings.\nDrive execution of cloud platform initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software.\nManage engineering capacity, prioritization, and resource allocation across multiple projects and initiatives.\nPartner with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical solutions and executable delivery plans.\nDrive Agile development practices, including sprint planning, release management, and continuous delivery.\nMonitor engineering productivity, software quality, system reliability, and customer satisfaction to identify opportunities for improvement.\nTechnical & Operational Excellence\nEstablish and champion engineering best practices across software development, architecture, code quality, testing, security, and operational excellence.\nGuide teams in the development and operation of cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.\nPromote effective CI/CD, DevOps, automation, monitoring, and production support practices.\nDrive improvements in application scalability, performance, reliability, and security.\nSupport customer escalations and critical production issues when required, ensuring appropriate technical resources and stakeholders are engaged.\nPeople & Organizational Leadership\nLead, coach, and mentor engineering teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nDevelop engineering talent through ongoing coaching, feedback, career development, and succession planning.\nBuild and scale high-performing engineering teams capable of supporting evolving product and business priorities.\nCreate an environment that encourages technical excellence, ownership, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing.\nCross-Functional & Global Collaboration\nPartner closely with Product Management, Program Management, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Customer Success, and other business stakeholders.\nCollaborate effectively with engineering teams across multiple locations and time zones.\nCommunicate engineering priorities, risks, dependencies, and progress clearly to technical and business stakeholders.\nApply data-driven decision-making to engineering priorities, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWho You Are\nYou're an experienced engineering leader who combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional people leadership and execution capabilities. You understand how to build high-performing teams while maintaining a strong focus on software quality, operational reliability, and customer outcomes.\nIf you have:\n15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 5+ years of engineering management experience.\nDemonstrated experience leading globally distributed software engineering teams.\nStrong experience building and operating cloud-native applications and enterprise software platforms.\nHands-on knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.\nHands on experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.\nKnowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.\nStrong understanding of SaaS platforms, API development, and system integrations.\nExperience with cloud security, scalability, performance optimization, monitoring, and system reliability.\nFamiliarity with databases, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures.\nExperience managing cloud-based enterprise software products and platforms.\nExperience within IoT, transportation, logistics, telematics, supply chain, industrial automation, connected products, or a related technology environment.\nKnowledge of IoT platforms, connected devices, telemetry, and asset tracking solutions is highly desirable.\nStrong people leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities.\nExcellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nStrong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.\nA customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering measurable business outcomes.\nLeverage AI-enabled tools and automation to support daily tasks and productivity.\nCommitment to continuous learning in digital and AI literacy.\nThen we want to meet you!\nThe Benefits of Working Here\nA career with ORBCOMM offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills and expand your expertise in a collaborative, innovative environment.
