We are the intelligent layer that works with a firm's existing technology, from deal capture and confirmation through to Value at Risk.\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our growing product team in Dubai.\nRequirements\nYou will build the services behind OrbicTrade: AI extraction, trade workflow, validation, integration and risk. Trades pass through these services on their way into clients' core systems, so accuracy, auditability and recovery matter as much as speed.\nYou will work closely with front-end engineers, business analysts, application support and client technology teams. This is a hands-on role covering design, development and production ownership.\nKey Responsibilities\n· Design, build and maintain secure, scalable backend services and REST APIs\n· Develop the AI extraction pipeline that turns emails, chats and documents into structured trade data\n· Implement grounding, validation and confidence scoring using reference data and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)\n· Build workflow services for review, four-eyes approval, confirmations, amendments and trade versioning\n· Develop integrations with CTRM, ERP, contract-management, market-data and data-lake platforms\n· Build asynchronous processing with queues, webhooks, retries, idempotency and reconciliation\n· Design and maintain PostgreSQL data models, including the canonical trade model and audit trail\n· Support the VaR module, including position feeds, market data and overnight risk runs\n· Run services on AWS using containers, with secure deployment patterns that also suit client-hosted AWS or Azure environments\n· Build logging, monitoring and alerting into every service\n· Apply secure engineering practices across authentication, authorisation, encryption and secrets management\n· Write automated tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines\n· Support root-cause analysis and resolution of production issues as L3 escalation\n· Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers\nRequired Experience\n· At least 7 years of hands-on backend development experience\n· Strong development experience in Python, with frameworks such as FastAPI\n· Experience designing and operating REST APIs and event-driven or asynchronous systems\n· Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including data modelling and performance tuning\n· Production experience on AWS, including ECS or similar, Aurora, S3, IAM, KMS and Secrets Manager\n· Experience with Docker, CI/CD and infrastructure as code\n· Experience integrating enterprise systems, including mapping, error handling and reconciliation\n· Experience with OAuth2, role-based access control and secure coding practices\n· Experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting complex technical issues\n· Experience with automated testing, version control and structured software-development processes\nPreferred Experience\n· Experience building LLM applications, using services such as Amazon Bedrock or Azure OpenAI\n· Experience with RAG, prompt evaluation and measuring extraction accuracy\n· Experience in commodity trading, energy, capital markets or financial-services technology\n· Understanding of the trade lifecycle across Front, Middle and Back Office functions\n· Experience integrating with E/CTRM platforms such as Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Aspect or Eka\n· Exposure to market-risk calculations such as Value at Risk\n· Experience with Azure and with deploying software into client-owned environments\n· Experience working to ISO 27001 or similar security
