The contract runs from mid-November 2026 to the end of January 2027, including launch.\n\nWhat you'll work on\n\nFront end\n\nA custom WooCommerce theme built from approved designs and HTML mock-ups (no page builders), working well on phones and desktops\n\nInteractive features in JavaScript, such as a product configurator, a live logo preview and filters\n\nAccessibility and page speed\n\nBack end\n\nCustom WordPress plugins in PHP 8: pricing rules, file uploads, REST API endpoints and scheduled tasks\n\nSetting up and customising WooCommerce: products and variations, order stages and emails, payments (Stripe and PayPal), discount codes, reviews, shipment tracking and Xero\n\nKeeping the store fast with a large product catalogueProduct data\n\nImporting, cleaning and mapping supplier data from CSV and Excel files, and from APIs\n\nWorking with a product information system (Akeneo PIM) and WP All ImportServers and deployment\n\nLinux servers and managed WordPress hosting, Cloudflare, backups, cron jobs and SFTP\n\nMoving work from test to live safely, with Git and GitHub\n\nQuality and security\n\nAutomated tests, and testing on real devices before launch\n\nSecure coding throughout: OWASP Top 10, safe file uploads, no passwords or keys in code\n\nClear documentation of what you build\n\nMust-haves\n\nAt least 4+ years' commercial experience building WordPress and WooCommerce sites, including custom themes and plugins\n\nStrong PHP 8 and JavaScript, and solid HTML and CSS\n\nExperience importing product data from CSV or Excel files\n\nComfortable on a Linux server (SSH, cron, logs) and with Git and GitHub\n\nSecure coding habits\n\nYou manage your own time well and deliver to deadlines\n\nClear written English, and regular, reliable progress updates\n\nNice to have\n\nAkeneo PIM, WP All Import or Elasticsearch\n\nPython for data processing\n\nStripe, PayPal or Xero integrations\n\nPlaywright or PHPUnit\n\nCloudflare, and managed hosting such as Cloudways or DigitalOcean\n\nExperience on UK e-commerce projects, and an eye for design detail\n\nThe details\n\nFixed-term contract: mid-November 2026 to the end of January 2027\n\nA full-time workload with flexible hours: work when it suits you.
