They are also cross-trained on and can perform numerous operations within forging without supervision. The Operations Tech, Foundry Operator, performs tasks to operate computer-controlled high temperature vacuum furnaces to ensure that parts meet customer specifications, as well as tasks related to receiving product to ensure that manufactured product is processed into the designated location in accordance with established policies, practices and procedures\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\nOperate and maintain Flash Fire unit; Remove sealed molds from drying tunnel; Ensure molds to be dewaxed are properly sequenced FIFO per casting schedule.\n\nInspect molds before and after dewax operations; Load and unload molds for preheat furnaces\n\nper daily schedule\n\nOperate induction furnace to cast molten alloy into molds.\n\nRepair furnaces with linings and replacement of crucibles as required.\n\nSort molds and castings to maintain lot integrity.\n\nPull and set molds to sand pit to facilitate pouring of alloy into mold.\n\nAssist melt furnace operator in casting each alloy charge.\n\nStage ingots for melt furnace operations per daily production schedule.\n\nInventory alloy and maintain daily consumption log.\n\nCut alloy ingots per daily casting production schedule.\n\nSet and check melt furnace temperature controls.\n\nMaintain precise documentation as related to daily production log\n\nCompletes all required training.\n\nUse hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.\n\nMaintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.\n\nDetect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.\n\nFollow designated safety rules and regulations.\n\nSupport Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.\n\nDimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.\n\nPerform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.\n\nDetect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.\n\nFollow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products\n\nPerform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs\n\nAssist in training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.\n\nReinforces safety expectations.
