This role owns complex Slate architecture, integrations, custom applications, and data flows that support students from recruitment and application through admission and onboarding.

Working across Enrollment Management and university technology partners, you will turn complex business needs into secure, accessible, reliable systems. The position offers substantial technical autonomy, opportunities to mentor colleagues, and direct contributions to student access, enrollment growth, and more effective university operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior technical ownership of undergraduate Slate and related enrollment systems.
  • Design and develop complex applications, APIs, integrations, and data flows, including Banner-connected processes.
  • Analyze cross-unit enrollment workflows and anticipate downstream system and operational impacts.
  • Lead resolution of complex production issues and provide advanced technical consultation.
  • Maintain architecture, integration, support, and continuity documentation and technical standards.
  • Provide technical lead work, mentoring, and code/design review without direct personnel supervision.
  • Maintain current technical expertise and support DEM&IT and Enrollment Management priorities.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in systems analysis and related programming support functions generally obtained by a bachelor’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent amount of training and applied experience.

  • Experience in systems analysis, application development, CRM administration, database-supported systems, integrations, or related programming support functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight and lead complex cross-functional technical work from requirements analysis and solution design through implementation and production support.
  • Experience translating complex business processes and technical requirements into secure, maintainable, sustainable system solutions.
  • Strong communication, writing, documentation, organizational, consultation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and technical dependencies, monitor progress, and maintain accurate project, system, and operational information.
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedure, business rules, data relationships, and technical requirements and explain implications clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to identify architecture, integration, data, operational, and project risks and independently resolve, mitigate, or escalate them appropriately.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusive excellence and student success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business information systems, management information systems, data systems, or a related area of study.
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience with Technolutions Slate CRM administration, configuration, reporting, systems development, or technical ownership.
  • Experience supporting undergraduate admissions, recruitment, onboarding, scholarship, CRM communications, application processing, or other high-volume enrollment operations.
  • Experience with SQL, XML, JavaScript, HTML, Groovy, Ruby on Rails, APIs/web services, data integrations, data mapping, or other technologies relevant to Slate and enrollment systems.
  • Experience designing, testing, implementing, or troubleshooting integrations between Slate and Ellucian Banner or other enterprise student information systems.
  • Experience applying higher education policies and business-process knowledge to technical solutions involving admissions, registrar, financial aid, scholarships, student data, FERPA, or academic procedures.
  • Experience serving as technical lead or technical owner for complex systems work, including solution architecture, workflow automation, integration design, code/design review, mentoring, or establishing technical standards.
  • Experience analyzing downstream impacts across interconnected systems, including data mappings, source formats, system-of-record dependencies, reporting, and operational workflows.
  • Experience working in a customer-service-oriented technology team supporting multiple business units and improving or automating complex operational processes.
