Founded in 1921, Terumo Corporation (TSE:4543) strives to fulfil its mission of “Contributing to Society through Healthcare” by providing a comprehensive range of solutions in the fields of therapeutic procedures, hospital operations, and life sciences in more than 160 countries and regions.\nPosition Summary\nThe Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting electronics systems for OrganOx’s medical devices, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory and safety standards. The role involves full lifecycle electronics design from concept through to manufacturing handover, including schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and verification. Proficiency with Altium Designer will be considered a strong advantage.\nThis is an on-site role based in our Oxford office, combining on-site collaboration with remote design work to ensure close interaction with cross-functional engineering, quality, and regulatory teams.\nMajor Responsibilities\nReporting to the Electronics Engineering Manager, and under direction from the Principal Electronics Engineer, the Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for:\nDesigning and developing electronic circuits and PCB layouts, with a focus on reliability, safety, and manufacturability.\nCreating schematics and PCB designs using Altium Designer (advantageous).\nPerforming component selection and design calculations to meet performance specifications.\nConducting design verification and validation in accordance with IEC 60601 and other applicable standards.\nCollaborating with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of electronics.\nSupporting prototype assembly, debugging, and troubleshooting.\nPreparing and maintaining design documentation.\nParticipating in design reviews and providing technical input for continuous product improvement.\nSupporting transfer to manufacturing and assisting with supplier engagement for electronics components and assemblies.\nAdhere to the letter and spirit of OrganOx’s Code of Conduct and all other company policies\nRequirements\nSkills & Experience\nDemonstrable industry experience in electronics design.\nExperience in regulated industries, preferably medical devices, is desirable.\nStrong knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design.\nProficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout, ideally with Altium Designer.\nFamiliarity with EMC design considerations and design-for-manufacture principles.\nExperience with electronic testing tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and logic analysers.\nUnderstanding of medical device standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 62304) is an advantage.\nAbility to troubleshoot and solve complex design issues.\nEffective communication skills for working within cross-functional teams.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience\nAbility to travel occasionally (up to 5%).\nBenefits\nAt OrganOx, we value innovation, evidence, integrity, teamwork, respect, and passion.
