The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, safety, and regulatory requirements.\nThis is an office based role in Oxford UK, with flexibility, to ensure close collaboration with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams.\nListed below are the major responsibilities of the role and a brief description of some of the key tasks to be performed. This list is not totally exhaustive.\nMajor Responsibilities\nUnder direction from the Director, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Principal Mechanical Engineer, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:\nDesigning mechanical components and assemblies for medical devices using CAD tools\nSupporting engineering analysis and testing activities to aid design verification and validation\nCollaborating with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable\nSupporting prototype builds, testing, and engineering investigations\nPreparing engineering documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 and other applicable standards\nParticipating in risk management and design review activities\nWorking collaboratively with electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle\nAdhering to the letter and spirit of OrganOx’s Code of Conduct and all other company policies\nRequirements\nSkills & Experience\nProven end to end industrial mechanical design experience \nExperience supporting products through development and testing activities\nProficient in CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)\nUnderstanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes\nFamiliarity with engineering analysis and testing methods\nExperience working within regulated industries is desirable, preferably medical devices\nGood problem-solving and communication skills\nAbility to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience\nAbility to travel up to 10% as required\nBenefits\nAt OrganOx, we value innovation, evidence, integrity, teamwork, respect, and passion.
