The role combines responsibility for our existing on-premises SQL Server environment with an active role in the transition to the Azure Databricks-based New Data Platform. You will contribute to cloud platform administration, Infrastructure as Code, migration activities, and the controlled decommissioning of legacy environments, and later help ensure stable and compliant operation of the cloud platform. All services must meet Orifarm’s GxP, GDPR, security, and Corporate IT standards.\nYour responsibilities:\n\nDatabase Platform Ownership & Operations\nOwn the architecture, operational standards and lifecycle of Orifarm’s SQL Server platforms, covering configuration, maintenance, upgrades, capacity, performance and technical debt.\nEnsure reliable backup, recovery and high-availability solutions, including regular restore testing, disaster recovery readiness and audit evidence.\nMonitor and optimize database performance, availability and scalability through proactive maintenance, diagnostics, query and index tuning, and configuration improvements.\nProvide production support, incident response and root cause analysis, implementing preventive actions and supporting on-call activities where agreed.\nSecurity, Compliance & Documentation\nImplement database security controls covering access management, encryption, auditing and privileged access in line with Corporate IT, GDPR, GxP and IT QMS requirements.\nMaintain accurate technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, configuration baselines and traceable change records.\nSupport audits, risk assessments, validation activities, deviations and CAPAs by ensuring evidence readiness and compliant operations.\nCloud Transition & Modernization\nSupport the implementation and operation of the Azure Databricks-based New Data Platform, including workspace configuration, access, compute, monitoring and security.\nProvision and manage cloud platform components using Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and source-control practices.\nPlan and support migrations from on-premises SQL Server to the cloud, including testing, dependency analysis, data retention and controlled decommissioning of legacy environments.\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nWork with Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, developers, infrastructure, security, application teams and external partners to deliver secure, reliable and efficient solutions.\nLead or contribute to complex database changes and projects, providing transparent estimates, risks, dependencies and capacity implications.\nMentor colleagues, share operational knowledge and continuously improve reliability, maintainability and cost efficiency through automation and platform modernization.\nWho are you?\nProven hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, T-SQL, database architecture and data integrity; relevant Microsoft certifications are an advantage. \nStrong knowledge of performance tuning, execution plans, indexing, statistics, monitoring, capacity management and production troubleshooting. \nExperience with backup, recovery, high availability and disaster recovery solutions, restore testing and operational runbooks. \nPractical knowledge of database security and compliance, including access control, encryption, auditing, GDPR, GxP and IT QMS requirements. \nExperience with cloud or hybrid data platforms, preferably Azure Databricks and Azure SQL, including administration, security, networking, monitoring and migration. \nExperience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, preferably Terraform, PowerShell, T-SQL or Python, combined with CI/CD and DevOps practices. \nA strong operational mindset and the ability to collaborate across teams, drive continuous improvement and develop cloud expertise while maintaining ownership of the legacy SQL Server environment.\nWhat we offer:\nFulltime employment contract\nLife insurance\nPrivate medical care\nSports card\nPPK\nHybrid work model\nFlexible working hours\nJob Location\nWarsaw, Poland.
