Our modular, multi-trade platform combines purpose-built hardware with real-time site intelligence to navigate complex environments and execute tasks with precision. Trained in high-fidelity simulation and already deployed on live sites, our robots deliver 5x faster execution, 250%+ margin expansion, and significant cost savings. Join India's most talent-dense robotics team consisting of individuals from IITs, Stanford, UCLA, etc.\nAbout the role\nOrigin is hiring two Manufacturing Engineering Interns. The role is for fresh graduates who want to learn how a robot moves from design to build. You will keep the robot's CAD assembly drawings current, support assembly on the floor, and run inventory and kitting for our products: MOMA (AMR, Tower, Planner), the Sander and Sprayer tool systems, Tool Stations and accessories.\nOur robots change fast. Assembly drawings fall behind the CAD, kits are built from stale lists, and technicians wait while someone finds the right part or revision. You close that gap. You keep the Onshape assembly drawings and instructions in step with the latest released design, work beside technicians during builds, and keep parts counted, binned and kitted so that every build starts with a complete kit. The work is hands-on and detailed, and sits between the design team and the shop floor.\nKey responsibilities\n1. CAD assembly drawings\nUpdate Onshape assembly drawings, exploded views, balloons and bills of materials when the design changes, working from released change notices.\nCheck every drawing against the released model: part numbers, revisions, quantities, fasteners, torque notes and orientation notes.\nFlag mismatches between the model, the drawing and the part tracker, and send them back to the design owner instead of guessing.\nKeep drawing files, STEP and STL exports and revision history named and filed to the team's naming rule.\nMake simple edits to existing parts and drawings (a dimension, a note, a view) once trained; new part design stays with the design team.\n2. Assembly support\nSupport technicians during sub-assembly and final build: read the instruction sheet, confirm the right part and revision, and clear questions on the spot.\nRecord build issues in the assembly log: a part that does not fit, a missing note, a wrong quantity, a tool that is not suitable.\nHelp set up and use jigs, fixtures and standard assembly tools; follow torque, threadlocker and torque-marking rules.\nSupport robotic and semi-automated assembly steps, such as loading, teach checks and cycle checks, under the guidance of the lead engineer.\nDo basic incoming checks on parts against the drawing: dimensions, finish, thread fit and visible damage.\n3. Inventory management and kitting\nReceive, count, label and bin parts, and keep stock in the tracker accurate.\nBuild kits for each sub-assembly and robot from the bill of materials; check each kit against the list before it goes to the line.\nRaise shortages early to inventory and procurement, with the part number, quantity and the build date it affects.\nRun regular stock counts and reconcile differences; keep fasteners and small parts organised and easy to find.\nKeep the kit readiness view up to date so that planning knows which builds can start.\nRequirements\nB.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, completed in 2025 or 2026, or finishing this year.\nBasic Onshape skills: read assemblies and drawings, make a simple part and assembly, and export STEP, STL or PDF; a college project, portfolio or certificate shows it.\nReads engineering drawings and knows basic GD&T symbols, fits and tolerances.\nComfortable in a workshop: hand tools, torque wrenches, calipers and micrometers.\nWorks well in spreadsheets: sorting, filters, lookups, and keeping a tracker accurate.\nCareful and tidy by habit; double-checks part numbers and quantities.\nClear in written and spoken English; can explain a problem to a technician and to a designer.\nGood to have\nHands-on build experience from a college robotics, Formula or Baja team, or a lab project.\nKnowledge of fasteners, sheet metal, machining and 3D printing basics.\nExposure to pneumatics, linear guides or simple electromechanical assembly.\nFamiliarity with ERP, inventory or barcode systems, or Google Sheets scripts.\nInterest in robotics and in how a product moves from design to build.\nBenefits\nHands-on work on real robots, from CAD to the shop floor, with the team that builds them.\nTraining in Onshape drawings, release and change control, and production kitting.\nMentorship from the Lead Manufacturing Engineer and the electromechanical design team.\nA path to a full-time role for strong interns.\nWork directly with the founders and the tech team.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4910,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"English","level":"All levels","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Industrial Engineering","Construction Robotics","Robotic Software & Control Systems"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-31T09:06:31Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":81,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.894,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":11,"reasons":["conf:3","velocity","win:mid","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-11-04T06:34:25Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/origin-manufacturing-engineering-intern","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/origin-manufacturing-engineering-intern.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-04T09:39:35Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":15009,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-05T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":686527},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=686527"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Forigin-manufacturing-engineering-intern"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Forigin-manufacturing-engineering-intern"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Forigin-manufacturing-engineering-intern"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/origin-manufacturing-engineering-intern\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Forigin-manufacturing-engineering-intern"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3564536}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"origin.tech","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3564536},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people);
