The Accounting Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency for all AR/AP financial transactions. This position will play a critical role in driving financial excellence by processing cash flows accurately and timely as well as taking part in continuous innovation and evolution of the team. The holder of the position will report directly to the company’s Controller and will lead a team of four.
Role and Responsibilities
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Orion180 operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Oversee the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer invoices. Monitor billing and collections activities to optimize cash flow.
- Oversee monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts. Review journal entries as needed to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain, develop and implement internal control procedures to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the coordination of audits and reviews by internal and external auditors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and system upgrades.
- Provide training and support to accounting staff to ensure understanding and compliance with new procedures.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure adherence to applicable requirements.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 10 years of progressive experience in related accounting roles, with 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Perferred Skills
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
- Previous experience with Oracle’s Netsuite accounting software is a plus.
