Key responsibilities includebridging the gap between complex core insurance systems (Policy Admin, Claims, Billing) and our analytical consumers, implementing datalakehousearchitectures, ensuring data governance, and leading cloud migrationsandplatform integrations. Ideal candidatesrequireexpert-levelproficiencyinAzure data services and data modeling. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business leaders to turn raw data into scalable, production-ready assetsforreal-time analytics engines, portfolio risk platforms, and client-facing digital products.\nData Architecture & Modeling\nDesign secure, scalable, and resilient data architectures using the medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) pattern andDelta Lake pattern in close partnership withthe Enterprise Innovation& Technology(I & T)organization.\nLead physical and logical data modeling efforts across relational, dimensional (Kimball / Star Schema), and Data Vault methodologies. \nDevelop high-performance data processing logic usingPySpark, Spark SQL, and Python onAzure Databricks and Synapse Analytics.\nDefine data abstraction layers ensuring third-party SaaS and legacy databases map cleanly to machine-readable schemas forefficient and measurableconsumption.\nArchitect secure, scalable Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and gateways to connect LLMs and AI agents to internalanalyticaldata repositories.\nPlatform & Engineering Standards\nEstablish architectural patterns and best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline orchestration. \nEvaluate, benchmark, and recommend components of our modern data stackin alignment withI & T’s strategyandbe an active participant/contributor to the Architecture Review Board. \nWork closely with Data Engineers to conduct architecture reviews and mentor engineers on scalability and pipeline efficiency.\nArchitect semantic layer solutions and data product structures to power self-servicePowerBIimplementations.\nArchitect high-throughput batch and streaming pipelines to ingest structuredtransactionalpolicy/claims data as well as unstructured data (e.g., adjuster loss notes, FNOL images, aerial and satellite imagery surveys).\nCollaborate with Data Science and Machine Learning teams to ensure clean, structured feature stores and data pipelines forfutureML models and applications.\nGovernance, Quality & Security\nImplement automated data quality monitoring, data lineage tracking, and metadata management frameworksacross the data lifecycle. \nPartner withthe Enterprise Technology andSecurityand Compliance teams to enforce role-based access control (RBAC), data masking, and compliance standards (SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA). \nArchitectural Leadership\nPartner with theI & Tarchitecture team tobuild andoptimizecomplex ETL/ELT workflowsutilizingAzure Data Factory andMicrosoft Fabric Data Pipelines.\nWork closelywith Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to deploy AI/ML models and Business Intelligence solutions (e.g., Power BI). \nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.\nUnited States Citizen or Green Card holderrequired.\nExperience:\n7+ years in enterprise data architecture withdemonstratedexpertisein leading data platform initiatives and modernizing data estates.\nExpert inAzure Data Lake Storage Gen2,Azure Synapse Analytics,Azure Databricks,Azure Data Factory, andMicrosoft Fabric.\nStrong knowledge of relational and NoSQL systems likeAzure SQL Database andAzure Cosmos DB.\nExperience designing real-timearchitectureusingAzure Event Hubs andStream Analytics.\nHighproficiencyinPython,SQL,PySpark, andSpark SQL.\nAbility to integrateGeospatial data types and visualization platforms for locationintelligencethat removesdata fragmentation and technical bottlenecks.\nPreferred credentials includeMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate orAzure Solutions Architect Expert.\nSkills & Attributes:\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. \nStrong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams. \nAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment\nThis position is 100% onsite in our Irving, TX location\nWe are interested in candidates who are developing capabilities aligned with modern, forward-looking analytics practices.
