This is a hands-on leadership role, combining people leadership with deep technical involvement across multiple strategic data programmes. You'll lead a team of up to 20 Quality Engineers across the UK and India whilst remaining close to delivery, shaping quality engineering practices, driving automation, and providing technical leadership across our Azure-based data estate.\nWorking within the Quality Engineering Chapter, you'll partner closely with Data Engineering, Architecture and Product teams to ensure robust, scalable and secure data solutions are delivered with quality embedded throughout the development lifecycle.\nThis role can be based from our Chatham or Wolverhampton offices and works within our hybrid policy of 3 days in the office.\nWhat you will be doing?\nAs Quality Engineering Manager (Data), you will provide leadership across multiple concurrent programmes and transformation initiatives, whilst remaining actively involved in the design and implementation of modern quality engineering practices. You will champion quality across the entire data ecosystem, leveraging automation, cloud-native tooling and AI-enabled capabilities to improve efficiency, data reliability and speed of delivery.\nKey responsibilities will include…\nProvide hands-on technical leadership across multiple data and transformation programmes, supporting delivery from design through to production.\nDefine and embed quality engineering standards, frameworks and best practices across OSB Group's Azure-based data platforms.\nDrive test automation and AI-enabled quality engineering approaches to improve efficiency, coverage and speed of delivery.\nDesign, review and execute testing for complex ETL pipelines, data warehouses, reporting solutions and analytics platforms.\nValidate data solutions across Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks and SQL Server, ensuring accuracy, integrity and reliability.\nSupport quality assurance for large-scale data migration and modernisation programmes, including reconciliation, validation and defect management.\nPartner closely with engineers, architects and business stakeholders to manage quality risks, improve outcomes and deliver trusted data solutions.\nWhat's in it for you?\nBase salary of between £65,000-£71,000\nEnhanced family-focused benefits\nAnnual bonus opportunity\n30 days annual leave + bank holidays\nPlease use this link to see the fantastic benefits available at OSB: https://www.osb.co.uk/careers/overview\nAbout us\nAt OSB Group, we understand how much our people bring to our organisation, which is why we try our best to give back too! Our Purpose is to help our customers, colleagues and communities prosper and we are on a transformation journey to become ‘the bank of the future’.\nOur commitment to professional development, flexible working, and employee well-being fosters a dynamic and supportive workplace.\nDo you have the skills?\nWe’re looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively in Agile teams and translating business needs into solutions that deliver real value.\nYou’ll ideally have:\nProven experience leading and developing high-performing Quality Engineering, Test or QA teams within data-centric environments, including large distributed teams across onshore and offshore locations\nStrong hands-on experience across data testing, ETL validation, reconciliation, data quality engineering and large-scale data migration or transformation programmes.\nDeep knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks and SQL Server, with advanced SQL skills for validating complex datasets.\nExperience developing automated testing and quality engineering solutions using tools such as Python, dbt, Great Expectations or similar frameworks.\nUnderstanding of modern Agile, DevOps and CI/CD practices, including the use of AI-assisted testing and engineering tools.\nExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and business audiences whilst managing multiple priorities and programmes.\nNext steps\nIf this sounds like you, please apply now!
