As an employee-owned firm, each Osborn employee is committed to ensuring that Projects are completed with a sense of pride and Clients’ expectations are exceeded.\nOsborn Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10-20 years of experiences for our Columbus, OH office location who will report to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering. Project team and client management experience in a consulting engineering environment working with private and public sector clients is preferred.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nProject and Client management. \nPreparation of proposals and administering project contracts, including Add Service Agreements.\nUnderstand work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan.\nSupervise staff or self-perform the following: Understand the proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and deliver appropriate documentation.\nAdvanced heating and cooling load calculations with Trace or HAP.\nDevelop air and water flows calculations.\nSections and elevations of complex ductwork and piping areas.\nEquipment room sizes during SD and DD phases.\nSpecifications to reflect the project requirements.\nModify sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systems.\nCoordinate with other disciplines for all HVAC details.\nMeet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application. \nMeet with contractors during the bid phase to review the design details.\nRespond to RFI’s for the project and accurately review submittals.\nPerform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects.\nUnderstand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipment.\nUnderstand fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for application.\nUse the psychrometric chart properly for any HVAC system.\n\nReview designs prepared by others as part of Osborn’s QA/QC process. \nAttend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require. \nConducting business development activities, participating in various trade organizations, and preparing or assisting with presentations.\nJob Requirements/Qualifications:\n10 - 20 years of Mechanical Design Experience in Consulting Engineering. \nExcellent Organizational and Communication skills.\nProactive and Collaborative team member.\nAbility to work and manage several project teams concurrently.\nExperience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.\nWorking knowledge of Revit. \nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Preferred. \nPE License preferred. \nAdditional Info:\nWe can offer you a challenging career with one of the Nation’s most respected and diverse Engineering Firms.
