Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.\nIn addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking an Engineering Manager (P.Eng.) to join our Engineering team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who is passionate about developing high-performing teams, driving continuous improvement, leading complex engineering projects, and helping shape the future direction of our engineering function.\nAs Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic and technical leadership to a team of engineers responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and innovative precast and prestressed concrete solutions. You will foster the growth and development of engineering talent while challenging traditional approaches to improve design practices, constructability, manufacturing processes, and erection methods.\nWorking closely with operations, project management, sales, and production teams, you will champion engineering excellence, support business objectives, and ensure the successful execution of projects from concept through completion. This position plays a key role in advancing operational efficiency, product innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.\n Lead and oversee precast and prestressed concrete engineering and design. \nProvide technical leadership on complex designs, connections, and project challenges. \nEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and engineering requirements. \nChallenge traditional approaches and encourage innovative, practical design solutions. \nIdentify opportunities to simplify designs, reduce material and complexity, and improve constructability. \nDesign with consideration for production, transportation, erection, cost, and schedule, not engineering in isolation. \nPromote standardization and automation where beneficial while continuing to challenge existing practices. \nCollaborate closely with clients, drafting, project management, production, quality, and field operations. \nMentor and develop engineers while creating a culture of technical curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement. \nEvaluate new technologies, materials, software, and design methodologies that can improve engineering efficiency and precast solutions.\nManage engineering resources, workload balancing, and project assignments to support business objectives and client timelines.\nReview and approve engineering calculations, technical reports, design packages, and project documentation.\nParticipate in recruitment efforts, workforce planning, and the onboarding of engineering talent.\n Technical Requirements\nBachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering. \nLicensed P.Eng. in Canada. \nKnowledge of Building Codes and CSA standards. \nExperience with ETABS, Tekla, or other 3D modeling software. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office. \nPrecast, manufacturing, or industrial experience considered an asset. \nBusiness Requirements\nStrong project coordination and organizational skills. \nAbility to mentor and support Engineers, Designers, and Drafters. \nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills. \nAbility to collaborate across departments and external stakeholders. \nSupport continuous improvement initiatives. \nCultural Requirements\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality. \nCollaborative leadership style. \nStrong communication and relationship-building skills. \nCommitment to safety and operational excellence. \nAdaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. \nAs a member of the OSCO Construction Group, Strescon offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
